NHL Picks – Rundown For Friday, April 23rd
Boston Bruins @ Buffalo Sabres
The Boston Bruins have figured out the Buffalo Sabres. The question is can the Sabres at least prolong this series one more game and send it back to Boston for a Game 6?
The Bruins have dictated the style of play and in the low-scoring contest so far in this series, the Sabres have found goals very hard to come by. Beyond that, the goaltender battle has been won by Boston as Tuukka Rask has outplayed Ryan Miller.
The Sabres still have one more stellar effort in them and sports betting fans should see them force a Game 6 with a valiant effort on Friday.
Pick: SabresMontreal Canadiens @ Washington Capitals
The Montreal Canadiens won Game 1 of this series and were winning 4-1 in the third period of Game 2. Since that point, though, the tide has completely turned and there is very little chance that the Canadiens come back.
The Capitals have scored 17 goals in the last three games and have blitzed the Canadiens netminders. Both Jaroslav Halak and Carey Price have lost confidence and the team has lost confidence in them.
Overall, NHL betting cappers know that the writing is on the wall. With the Capitals back at home in front of their home fans with all of the momentum, they are going to end this series.
Pick: CapitalsLos Angeles Kings @ Vancouver Canucks
Online betting fans have been treated to a delightful series between the Kings and Canucks but the tide has turned a little bit. Momentum is now with Vancouver, who stole a game in Los Angeles and has now even the series. With home ice advantage back in tow, expect them to take advantage.
Goaltending is the big difference in this series – or at least it should be. The Kings are supposed to have the short end of the stick in that regard, so they don’t mind getting into a shootout. But Game 5 will be about tightening things up on both ends of the ice.
Both teams will be a little tense knowing the situation and the importance of Game 5 and the Canucks will edge out the Kings in yet another close contest.
Pick: CanucksDetroit Red Wings @ Phoenix Coyotes
The Detroit Red Wings and Phoenix Coyotes have gone back and forth for four games and now the crucial Game 5 is set to on Friday night.
There have been high-scoring outputs by both teams and at the same time, both goaltenders have dominated at times as well.
At this point, though, this is where experience comes into play. It’s tough to say who’s experience will factor more. The Coyotes are a young squad but they do have a good coach in Dave Tippett. So do the Red Wings, but their netminder, Jimmy Howard, has not really been in this position before so his lack of experience could show.
Overall, it’s tough to bet against the Red Wings as they are still the Western Conference Champs until they are unseated. Look for the Coyotes to be a little nervous knowing what is at stake.
Pick: Coyotes
