Online NHL Betting Picks – NHL Picks For Tuesday, April 27th
Detroit Red Wings @ Phoenix Coyotes
Can anyone believe that the Detroit Red Wings and Phoenix Coyotes are heading to a seventh game?
NHL betting fans have to be thrilled with this series – and the quality of NHL playoff hockey to date – as this series in particular has had it all. We’ve seen some games where the goaltenders take over as both Phoenix’s Ilya Bryzgalov and Detroit’s Jimmy Howard both have taken over games. At the same time, we’ve seen high-scoring affairs where the main forwards on both teams dazzle. There have been surprises – like Detroit winning in Phoenix in Game 5 and Phoenix winning in Detroit in Game 6 when it looked like it was over.
Now we head to a Game 7 where it would seem like all bets are off.
On one hand, the theme is still the same. The Red Wings have the experience of not only the playoffs, but Game 7 as well. Will that be a factor, though, as it really hasn’t been much of one in this series to date?
One thing is for sure: the Red Wings need their top two lines to dominate if online betting sharps are to expect them to advance.
Henrik Zetterberg had been the most dominant player on the ice through the first five games but he disappeared in Game 6. Through the first five games, Zetterberg had six goals and two assists.
Special teams is also a big story. The Coyotes had shorthanded and power play goals in Game 6, which is really what spurred them on to their big win. On the other hand, the Red Wings power play is now 0-for-11 in the last two contests.
Meanwhile, the Coyotes power play, which was listless on an 0-for-19 drought since Game 1, scored three times in Game 6.
Overall, experience will be a bit of a factor in Game 7. Sports betting cappers can attest to the fact that you can never gauge a young team’s mettle until they have a chance to eliminate their opponent. That takes a different type of moxie and the Coyotes may feels some nerves in Game 7 knowing that it is truly win or go home. And it might be winning that makes them more nervous than going home.
The Red Wings top two lines have the experience and they will have to carry the load. Goalie Jimmy Howard is a rookie and he may not bring his best effort but if the top two lines – players like Johan Franzen, Pavel Datsyuk and Zetterberg – can give him a lead to work with, that may be all he needs.
