Shooting for a Breeders’ Cup Scorel (Part 1-Friday)
- Who: Thoroughbreds – Prince Will I Am, Winter Memories, Rightly So, Awesome Feather, Midday, Red Desire, Life At Ten, Blind Luck
- What: Horse Racing Betting Tips – The Breeders’ Cup
- Where: Churchill Downs.
- When: Friday and Saturday, November 5th and 6th.
The Breeders’ Cup is not only a spectacle for horse racing fans, it’s also a golden opportunity for serious bettors to make a score. As I’ve pointed out many times, these huge wagering pools are filled with ‘square money’. Thus, the payoffs, especially for exotic wagers, are often incredibly high. I’ll be putting together some $1.00 Pick 4’s and $2.00 Pick 6’s for both days, which you’ll see below. Because of space constraints, I won’t be able to offer much in the way of handicapping insights. However, you may want to check out my article from last Friday, as my opinions haven’t changed significantly. Friday:
Pick 6:
- Race 5 (BC Marathon): #2-Prince Will I Am; #9-Bright Horizon; #11-Precision Break; #12-A. U. Miner. I’m leaving out Awesome Gem (7-2; dull recent form) and Giant Oak (4-1; 0-for-10 on dirt).
- Race 6 (BC Juvenile Fillies Turf): #7-Winter Memories.
- Race 7 (BC Filly and Mare Sprint): #12-Dubai Majesty; #13-Rightly So; #14-Champagne d’Oro. I’m not using defending champ Informed Decision (7-2; better on synthetics; appears to have lost a step).
- Race 8 (BC Juvenile Fillies): #4-Awesome Feather.
- Race 9 (BC Filly and Mare Turf): #7-Midday; #10-Red Desire.
- Race 10 (BC Ladies’ Classic): #1-Life At Ten; #10-Blind Luck.
$2.00 Pick 6 Ticket: 2,9,11,12/7/12,13,14/4/7,10/1,10…$96.00. I’m also betting on Awesome Feather to win the BC Juvenile Fillies at odds of 7-2 or better.
Pick 4: Races 7-10…Same selections as Pick 6 (feel free to add horses as your bankroll permits).
$1.00 Pick 4 Ticket: 12,13,14/4/7,10/1,10…$12.00.
Those are my horse racing betting tips for Friday’s Breeders’ Cup card. Look for Part 2 of this article, covering Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup card, by Noon ET tomorrow (if not sooner).
