Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Cain Velasquez
UFC 110 Betting Odds: Nogueira -120
Cain Velasquez and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira are at very different points in their career but they both have a chance to take over a heavyweight division that is in flux. Velasquez is a good, up-and-comer while Nogueira is clearly in the twilight of his career.
They have very similar skill sets – both are excellent on the ground – which means this fight will boil down to Velasquez’ youth against Nogueira’s experience. Sportsbook odds makers are favoring the experience but we’ll stick with the younger, sharper Velasquez.
Pick: Velasquez -110
Wanderlei Silva vs Michael Bisping
UFC 110 Betting Odds: Silva -150
Michael Bisping was absolutely destroyed at UFC 100 by Dan Henderson and he’ll try and bounce back against Wanderlei Silva. Technically, Bisping bounced back against Denis Kang, but really, Silva is a huge step up in competition.
Bisping is a little underrated by sports betting cappers because of what happened to him the last time we saw him, he was flattened by Hendo. But realistically, Bisping will be a bit more cautious with Silva and the home run hits, and he’ll be more prepared. There a little bit of value betting Bisping and we’ll take it.
Pick: Bisping +120
Joe Stevenson vs George Sotiropolous
UFC 110 Betting Odds: Stevenson -270
George Sotiropoulos will be the home town favorite but the Australian will be in tough against Joe Daddy Stevenson. While he’ll have the home crowd behind him, he’ll need it in a big way as he is facing a step up in competition at UFC 110. Sotiropoulos has had four straight wins in the UFC but none of his wins are against anyone of this caliber.
Stevenson has been through the fire and sure, he has some losses against B.J. Penn, Kenny Florian and Diego Sanchez, the reality is that those fighters are among the best in the division. Meanwhile, Stevenson has bounced back with back-to-back wins over Nate Diaz and Spencer Fisher. It’s a big price on Stevenson here but he is the pick.
Pick: Stevenson -270
Keith Jardine vs Ryan Bader
UFC 110 Betting Odds: Bader -150
Some people might be surprised to see Keith Jardine as an underdog against the lesser-known Ryan Bader in this fight but you have to look at the reality. The Dean Of Mean has now lost four of his last six fights and three of those four losses were by knockout.
Bader has plenty of power but one concern is his level of experience. Bader hasn’t fought anyone of worth whereas Jardine has gone through a who’s who in his last six fights.
Bader will be the better fighter in a year but right now, Jardine is more experienced and is desperate for a win. Bader will get his first taste of losing this Saturday at UFC 110.
Pick: Jardine +120
Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs Ben Rothwell
UFC 110 Betting Odds: Filipovic -150
Cro Cop is clearly a fan favorite and many mixed martial arts fans are happy to see him fighting in the UFC. But the reality is that he is really in the twilight of his career and his career has been disappointing at times as is.
But he is matched up evenly against Ben Rothwell, who has been doing a whole lot of nothing since his IFL days. Rothwell was destroyed in his UFC debut against Cain Velasquez but he should have a much more even matchup here.
This is an even fight and we’re essentially paying for a brand name in Cro Cop. Since it’s closer to a coin flip, we’ll take the value with the underdog in a battle of two desperate fighters.
Pick: Rothwell +120
