Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs Lyoto Machid
UFC 113 Betting Odds: Machida -190
The first time these two squared off, Lyoto Machida was a much bigger favorite. This time around, he’s just -190 after their first bout turned out to be much closer than
online betting fans expected.
There is no question that prior to that fight, Rua was a fighter who had all the talent to win but was consistently inconsistent. On the flip side, Machida was untouchable in his rapid ascent up the ranks in the UFC and really looked like he’d be unbeatable for a while.
But Rua’s game plan for whatever reason really go to Machida and made the fight extremely close. Some people even felt that Rua should have won by decision and not the other way around.
Overall, it’s still hard to pick Rua. Machida has absolutely fantastic defense and while Rua’s game plan caught him off-guard the first time around, Machidais going to be far more prepared for it this weekend. While the odds don’t indicate it, don’t be surprised if this fight is much more one-sided in Machida’s favor than the last one.
Bet UFC: Machida -190
Josh Koscheck vs Paul Daley
UFC 113 Betting Odds: Koscheck -250
Josh Koscheck will take on Paul Daley, who is otherwise known as Semtex. Daley has some solid knockout power as he has 18 KO’s in 23 wins.
Daley has been tearing it up since he joined the UFC with knockout wins over Dustin Hazelett and Martin Kampmann, both in the third minute of the first round.
UFC betting fans know that Daley is climbing the ladder and the next rung is the savvy veteran, Josh Koscheck.
Koscheck is more of a wrestler, so we’ll see a battle of striker versus wrestler in this fight. But Koscheck has been inconsistent of late. He has two losses in his last five matches as both Thiago Alves and Paulo Thiago were able to get wins.
Koscheck is past his prime and the up-and-coming Daley will take care of business and move into contender status.
Bet UFC: Daley +200
Kimbo Slice vs Matt Mitrione
UFC 113 Betting Odds: Slice -115
Everyone’s favorite Youtube sensation is back as he gets into the Octagon at UFC 113. Slice had a win against Houston Alexander in his debut and now he’ll take on fellow Ultimate Fighter contestant, Matt Mitrione.
Slice showed us what kind of power he has in the ring when he clocked Alexander a couple of times but
sports betting fans know that his ground game still needs a ton of work. As a matter of fact, it may be as good as it will get.
We’ve been hearing a lot of good things form the Slice camp regarding how seriously he’s taking this opportunity and how hard he is training. Mitrione isn’t exactly a champ of any sort, so this should be an even fight.
While it’s tough to predict overall, we’ll stick with Slice as he continues to improve slightly in the UFC.
Bet UFC: Slice -115
Patrick Cote vs Alan Belcher
UFC 113 Betting Odds: Belcher -120
Two desperate fighters who need to make an impression will get back in the Octagon at UFC 113.
Alan Belcher has been disappointing in his UFC career and he’s right on the cusp of getting a pink slip. In his 10 fights in the UFC, Belcher has just six wins. He’s coming off a win over Wilson Gouveia at UFC 107, so he’s trying to build some momentum but another win could be costly for him.
Meanwhile, Patrick Cote is best remembered for tearing his ACL in his fight with Anderson Silva and this will be his first fight since that incident. It hasbeen nearly a year and a half since that fluky injury occurred.
The good news for Cote is that he’ll be fighting in front of his home fans in Montreal, Canada, and they are going to be cheering for him.
Cote has a tough chin and he’ll likely drag this fight to the ground. Once it’s there, he’ll find a way to submit Belcher.
Bet UFC: Cote
Sam Stout vs Jeremy Stephens
UFC 113 Betting Odds: Stout -190
Sam Stout will be another hometown hero in the Octagon as the London, Ontario native will be fighting on his home soil.
Last time we saw Stout, he topped Joe Lauzon by decision. That might be the key to predicting this fight.
Stout is on a modest two-fight winning streak and as mentioned, he has topped Lauzon. Stephens actually lost to Lauzon at UFC Fight Night 17, which gives usan indication. In front of his home crowd, Stout should win another close battle via decision.
