Weekend Betting Preview - June 6-7

Posted by BetOnline.com Staff on 8/24/2009 7:18:42 AM
Belmont Stakes odds are the big play of the weekend in your offshore sportsbook, but there is also NBA Finals odds and Stanley Cup betting on the menu, along with a full weekend of motorsports action.

Horse Racing Odds

Mine That Bird is the 2/1 favorite heading into Saturday’s 141st running of the Belmont Stakes odds (Saturday, 5:00 PM ET), going for his second Triple Crown win of the season, but the story will be Calvin Borel’s quest to win all three jewels of the Crown. Belmont Stakes betting should be high all day long.

French Open Finals Betting

The mens’ final on Sunday morning will feature Sweden’s Robin Soderling taking on either Swiss great Roger Federer and Argentinean wonderkid Juan Martin Del Potro. On the womens’ side on Saturday morning, top-seeded Dafina Safina will try to win her first major when she meets fellow Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova, who won the 2004 U.S. Open. French Open finals odds are favoring Safina, who won the gold in Beijing last summer.

NBA Finals Odds

Lakers Magic betting (Sunday, 9:00 PM ET) sees Los Angeles favored by 6.5 points at home after their 25-point demolition of Orlando in the opening game. Kobe Bryant led the way with 40 points, eight boards and eight assists.

NHL Betting

Stanley Cup betting (Saturday, 8:05 PM ET) has Detroit favored at -155 at home after they dropped the last two games of the series in Pittsburgh. So far, the home team has won all four games, and the series now comes down to a best-of-three situation.

NASCAR Betting

NASCAR odds (Sunday, 2:00 PM ET) are backing Jimmie Johnson to battle with Denny Hamlin for the checkered flag at the Pocono 500. Kasey Kahne is the defending race-winner in this event, and he’ll be a solid choice for betting management players.

IndyCar Odds

Scott Dixon is favored by Indy Car odds in the Bombardier Learjet 550 (Saturday, 9:00 PM ET) at Texas Motor Speedway, and he won last year’s race from the pole. Dixon, the defending series champion, also took the checkered flag last week at Milwaukee, and has won two of the last three races overall.

F1 Odds

Jensen Button is a solid online bet in the Turkish Grand Prix (Sunday, 8:00 AM ET), as he’s won five of the six races this season. However, the Ferraris are catching up to Button’s Brawn Racing, and Felipe Massa has won three straight races in Istanbul. Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikkonen is another driver to watch if you’re betting online.
