Weekend Betting Preview - March 14-15
While March Madness betting is gearing up with the conference tournaments this weekend, those who bet on sports will have no shortage of other sportsbook options. It should be a fine weekend of sports betting, so check out what’s on tap:
- Conference tourney finals highlight the weekend
- Utah Jazz heads out on the road to face Miami, Orlando
- Action on the ice, links, diamond and soccer pitch
NCAA Basketball Betting
All of the seeds for the NCAA Tournament will be released on “Selection Sunday”, airing at 6:00 PM ET, but first, there is the business of the conference tournaments. On Saturday, the Atlantic-10, Big East, Big 12 and Pac-10 will wrap up their seasons, while the ACC and SEC conclude things on Sunday. There’s already been a number of sportsbook upsets, so get some practice for March Madness odds this weekend.
NBA Betting
We’ll get to see if the Utah Jazz are a legitimate NBA betting contender this weekend, as they head to Miami on Saturday afternoon (1:00 PM ET), where they’ll run into a red-hot Dwayne Wade. On Sunday, the Jazz will meet the Orlando Magic (6:00 PM ET). We know the Jazz are a great team at home but, to win in the playoffs, you need to be able to beat good teams on the road. This is a good test for the Jazz.
NHL Betting
History could be made on Saturday in Montreal, when goalie Martin Brodeur can tie Patrick Roy’s record for wins at 551. Brodeur’s New Jersey Devils will visit a Montreal team that is in a tailspin, even with the firing of head coach Guy Carbonneau.
Golf Betting
Since there is no 36-hole cut in the WGC-CA Championship at Doral Golf Resort this weekend, online sports betting players can bet on Tiger Woods and the rest of the field all weekend long.
World Baseball Classic Betting
The United States continues its quest at the WBC with a second-round matchup against Puerto Rico on Saturday (8:00 PM ET). The Americans are in Pool 2, along with Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and the surprising team from the Netherlands.
Soccer Betting
A massive matchup takes place in the English Premier League on Saturday (8:30 AM ET), when Manchester United welcomes Liverpool to town. A loss by Liverpool would put them 10 points behind first-place United, which is surely too large of a deficit to overcome.
