Magic vs Nuggets betting – Saturday, January 17 at 9:30 p.m. ET
By Craig Parsons
The Denver Nuggets have been rolling and very quietly compiled a 26-10 record since acquiring Chauncey Billups. They have been playing without Carmelo Anthony for their last four games but that hasn’t factored so much as they have won three times with wins over Indiana, Dallas and Phoenix.
Some of those wins are misleading because Thursday’s win over Phoenix didn’t include Shaquille O’Neal, as he was resting, and the Mavericks really struggle against anyone with a winning record.
Obviously, without Anthony, the Magic vs Nuggets line will be affected, but the Nuggets have still proven to be a credible home team. But the Magic aren’t intimidated playing on the road or playing in the West. They are 15-5 on the road and 16-4 against the Western Conference.
For the upset pick, bet on Orlando.
Bruins vs Capitals betting – Saturday, January 17 at 7:00 p.m. ET
By Don Melrose
It’s no secret that the Boston Bruins have become one of the best teams in the NHL. They sit atop the league with 70 points and are actually quite hot right now, winning eight of their last 10 games.
On Saturday, they’ll travel to face the Washington Capitals, who are second in the Eastern Conference.
Online sports betting sharps should take note that the Capitals are very tough to beat at home. Only two teams have a better winning percentage at home: the Bruins and the Detroit Red Wings.
Washington won the previous meeting at home and even though the sportsbook odds expect a close game, look for a similar result to their previous contest on Saturday.
For the upset pick, bet on the Capitals.
Oklahoma vs Texas A&M betting – Saturday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. ET
By Washington Tucker
College basketball odds indicate that the Oklahoma and Texas A&M game will be a close contest but don’t be surprised if the Aggies upset the fifth-ranked Sooners.
Oklahoma has become fairly two-dimensional as Blake Griffin and Willie Warren have been carrying the scoring load this season. Griffin and Warren combine to average 38.3 points per game while the next six leading scorers combined to average 39.4 points per game.
A&M isn’t ranked, but online sports betting handicappers shouldn’t underestimate them. They are 15-2 on the year and are fresh off and upset win over No. 21 ranked Baylor.
For the upset pick, bet on the Aggies to ride their momentum to another win.
Ravens vs Steelers betting – Sunday, January 18 at 6:30 p.m. ET
By Stan Simmons
Ravens vs Steelers odds have the Steelers favored by just under a touchdown but it’s hard to lay the points when you consider that the previous two meetings this year were decided by less than six points.
The Ravens have played the Steelers twice and have played them tough both times. In the contest in Pittsburgh, rookie quarterback Joe Flacco led the Ravens in a comeback to force overtime. In the second contest in Baltimore, the Steelers needed a controversial late touchdown to sneak away with the win.
There is no question that this game will be close and the six points that the sportsbook odds are offering is just to enticing to pass up.
For the upset pick, bet on the Ravens +6.
