Online betting players could be watching another Chelsea dynasty starting again as they’re romping through the Premiership towards another title. They’ll head on the road to face Manchester City this Saturday, and City has had a problem with getting maximum points as they’ve had a stunning run of draws. It’ll end this weekend, but not the way they want it to.

Chelsea vs Man City betting odds maker breakdown: The Storyline
Chelsea holds a five-point lead over Manchester United in the standings, and they flexed their muscles with a 3-0 win at Arsenal last weekend. Being knocked out of the Carling Cup by Blackburn on Wednesday won’t affect Chelsea. City has set a record with seven straight draws in the Premiership, but they earned a date against rivals Manchester United in the Carling Cup by beating Arsenal. Now, they have to transfer that play to the Premiership, where they can’t afford to lose any more ground to the top teams.
Betting Edge: Man City
Chelsea vs Man City betting odds maker breakdown: Offense
The blues are tied with Arsenal with 36 goals, most in the Premiership, and it’s not a stretch to say that Didier Drogba is the best striker in England. He’s tied with Tottenham’s Jermain Defoe with 11 goals apiece, adding a pair against Arsenal, and he’s also notched five assists. Drogba and Nicolas Anelka may be the most feared strike pair in England. You also have to account for Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack from midfield.
City has had trouble finishing as of late, and Emmanuel Adebayor has scored just once in his last nine matches. Craig Bellamy has also been quiet, meaning that the goals have to come from somewhere. Maybe it’s time to give Carlos Tevez a try in the starting 11, and they also have Robinho back from injury as well.
Betting Edge: Chelsea
Chelsea vs Man City betting odds maker breakdown: Defense
It’s not even close as Chelsea has the best defense in England, by far. Led by keeper Petr Cech and captain John Terry, the Blues have a back line that would also stand up against any team in Europe. Ashley Cole looks to be getting back to the form that made him the world’s best left-back by a wide margin, and he was all over the place against his former team, Arsenal.
Like the offense, the City defense has problems finishing, meaning they can’t hold a lead. In four of their seven draws, City has given up the game-tying goal, and there’s eight dropped points right there. Joleon Lescott hasn’t been worth the $30 million City paid Everton for him, and they may miss Richard Dunne, who was sold to Aston Villa to make room for Lescott and Kolo Toure.

Chelsea vs Man City betting odds maker breakdown: Notable Injuries
Ashley Cole (thigh) left the Arsenal match early with a knock, but he should be alright for this week. Alex (thigh) is also a major doubt.
Shaun Wright-Phillips (calf) picked up his injury against Arsenal in the Carling Cup, but he should be cleared to play. City is also awaiting the return of Martin Petrov (knee), who has been out since early November.
Betting Edge: Draw
Chelsea vs Man City betting odds maker breakdown: Totals
Seven of the last 10 between these two have gone under the posted total, including one of two last season. Chelsea’s defense hasn’t allowed a goal in three Premiership matches, while City has been shut out just once this year. We know Chelsea can score on City, because they have in their last eight meetings with the “other” Blues. Take the over in your online sportsbook.
Pick: OVER 2.5
Chelsea vs Man City betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick
Chelsea has dominated City in this series, winning eight and drawing one of their last 10 meetings. Chelsea has also won their last four trips to the City of Manchester Stadium, and the way that they’re playing as of late, it’s tough to see City stopping them now. Chelsea just has too many offensive weapons, and their defense is too stout to let in more than one against City right now.
