Argentina Mexico Betting – South America Meets North In Round Of 16
One of only a handful of teams that have lived up to the lofty expectations placed on them entering the 2010 World Cup betting tournament, Maradona’s Argentina side swept through the group stage with relative ease, never seeming at risk of securing anything less than maximum points in any contest, and tallying seven goals for in comparison to just one against. Now, the south American side will meet a nation that plays just a little north of Buenos Aires, with goal differential being the difference that lifted Mexico over South Africa for the final qualifying spot in group A despite the two sides being tied with four points each.

Round of 16
Team Argentina: Betting Preview
There was never any doubt in the mind of head coach Maradona that his side was up to the task in the group stage, and his confidence was justified after Argentina swept through Group B, dismantling South Korea, Greece, and Nigeria to clinch the top spot. While the competition they faced in the opening betting round will pale in comparison to the potential challengers that await Argentina, the offensive juggernaut seems destined for great things in 2010. Led by 2009 World Football Player of the Year Lionel Messi up front, Argentina’s attack is relentless, and their pace has proven too much for nearly every team they have faced leading up to this point, including in qualifying. Now, Maradona will hope his team’s talent will shine through against an opponent that plays a similar style, with a game predicated on speed.
Team Mexico: Betting Preview
After conceding the opening goal of the tournament to the host nation South Africa in their opening game, Mexico seemed to settle down and play as a unit for most of their eventual 1-1 draw, before soundly defeating the side from France 2-0, in a game that witnessed a monumental collapse on the opposition side. Uruguay was a much tougher test for Mexico however, who conceded the only goal of the match, and in a 1-0 defeat conceded the top spot in the group, which in turn meant they would have to face Argentina, while top seed Uruguay got South Korea. The difference is massive, but the outlook remains the same. In order to win it all, you must beat the best. Now Mexico will have to do so, just earlier than they would have hoped in their World Cup knockout stage betting.
Who Will Win It?
Despite Mexico’s upstart style that is similar to their opponents game, Argentina is much more talented and a lot deeper throughout its roster, and seems to be improving with each passing game. Not many teams have shown enough to think that Argentina can’t go all the way in 2010, and it appears as though Mexico will only be their first victim of the elimination stage, when the two hook up in the round of 16.
