Chile Switzerland Betting – Swiss Look To Build On Upset Win Against Chile
After providing what was undoubtedly the biggest upset of the opening round with a 1-0 win over defending Euro Cup champion Spain, Switzerland is suddenly aiming for sole possession of the top spot in the Group H standings with a chance to clinch a spot in the round of 16 on the line. Excellent strategic defending, combined with capitalizing on one of their few chances in the match helped the Swiss to their unlikely victory. Now, they will face a Chilean side that won their opener, with the potential for a 2010 World Cup betting surprise win no longer available.

Team Chile: Betting Preview
Expected by many to be the team that advanced along with Spain through the group stages, Chile carried through with their responsibilities in their 1-0 opening win over Honduras. Chile dominated possession, allowing Honduras only a single touch inside their 18-yard box, and preventing their soccer betting opponents from registering even one shot on goal. Jean Beausejour provided Chile with the go-ahead goal in the 34th minute, which would stand the rest of the way as the eventual game winner, ending his team’s 13-match winless streak. Now, after scoring just one goal on 22 total shots in their opener, Chile looks to be even sharper against a Switzerland side that is sure to keep them on their toes.
Team Switzerland: Betting PreviewAfter upsetting not only the group favorite, but the tournament favorite with a 1-0 win over Spain, the Swiss side has to be walking with confidence knowing that they are one victory away from securing their spot in the round of 16. Despite allowing their opponent to dominate time of possession 74-26-percent, Switzerland found a way to capitalize on their opportunities and make it count, while keeping the ball out of their own goal long enough to hear the final whistle sound. The Swiss will need a much more complete effort heading in to their second game, as there is little chance that Chile will underestimate them now that they have established themselves as a legitimate threat.
Who Will Win It?
While the online sports betting world is abuzz about the Swiss side knocking off Spain in their initial contest, the fact remains that they were still heavily out shot, and out chanced by a favorite that appeared to take them to lightly in the opening half. Now that all of the groups have played their opening games, the tournament is beginning to shape up differently than expected. Although many will be quick to jump aboard the Switzerland bandwagon, the truth is that they will once again be matching up against a team that is far superior to them, although this time they won’t be taken lightly.
