England Germany Betting – Group Favorites Meet In Round of 16
While the English were able to secure maximum points against the Slovenians in their group stage online sports betting finale, an inability to secure top spot earlier in the tournament has resulted in England earning a round of 16 match up against the powerful Germans. Two favorites to advance to the elite eight in this year’s tournament, now one of these teams is set to go home ahead of schedule, and for whoever the loser ends up being, it will be yet another disappointing result at a major international tournament.

Team England: Betting Preview
Soccer betting observers that paid close attention to England’s opening 1-1 draw against the United States understand very well how this team didn’t end up as the top seed out of Group C. With 32 teams competing for one title, fortune becomes a necessity, something that England simply did not have in the initial stage of the World Cup betting tournament. An unfortunate miscue by the goalkeeper in game one resulted in the draw with the U.S., which allowed the Americans to hang around long enough to clinch the top spot in the group based on goal differential. A scoreless draw as well as a 1-0 win over Slovenia resulted in the chance to compete in the round of 16, but has inspired little in the way of confidence heading in to this showdown with Germany.
Team Germany: Betting Preview
After blowing out Australia 4-0 in the initial contest of the group stage, Germany stumbled in the most unpredictable way, falling 1-0 to Serbia to establish a certain vulnerability facing the squad. Despite rebounding nicely with a 1-0 win over Ghana to secure the top spot in the division, Germany potentially lost one of its best players in midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, and could also be without Mesut Ozil and Jerome Boateng. Head coach Joachim Low has done an excellent job of keeping his players close, and after finishing four goals better in differential than the next closest team, Germany is now ready to make its presence felt in the elimination round.
Who Will Win It?
Both teams have suffered monumental letdowns in recent major international tournaments, whether it be Germany’s elimination in the semi finals to eventual World Cup winners Italy in 2006, or England’s failure to even reach the Euro Cup two years later, critics have been harsh on both sides for their lack of success despite boasting some of the best players in the world. The pressure will be on both sides, but England is the team better prepared for it after all the team has been through since its exit in the 2006 World Cup. While it should very well be a close contest, but eventually England will prevail.
