The winner of Federer-Safin will likely get a shot at Rafael Nadal, who destroyed Andy Murray 6-3, 6-2 , 6-4 en route to a spot in the final. Nadal faces the winner of Schuettler and Clement (scheduled to finish Thursday morning) in the semi.
On the women's side, an all-Williams sister final is looking like a good possibility. Venus will battle Elena Dementieva for a chance to reach the finals after knocking off Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-4, 6-3 in the quarter-final. Dementieva, meanwhile, needed three sets to finish off Nadia Petrova.
Serena must get through Zheng Jie in the other semifinal. Odds are it won't be a problem since she absolutely punished Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 6-0 on Tuesday. Zheng needed three sets to beat Nicole Vaidisova in the quarters.
