Baltimore Ravens Betting – Ravens Set For One Last Chance At Super Bowl As Window Continues To Close For Veterans

One last chance has been the consistent theme around the Baltimore Ravens’ locker room the past couple of online sports betting seasons, and for obvious reasons. With a veteran core that includes Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, the window to bring another NFL championship to Maryland has seemed to be closing for years. But as the Ravens continue to fall just short on the biggest stage, resiliency and turnover have crept into the picture and provided the franchise with optimism pushing forward to the 2011-12 season.

With no end in sight to the current lockout ahead of the 2011 Belmont Stakes betting race there are question marks around the league, but in Baltimore fans understand that the culture that head coach Jim Harbaugh has brought to the team is there to stay. Regardless of when the season begins Harbaugh will have his men ready, and that means bad news for the rest of the AFC.

The Ravens won 12 regular season games a year ago, but fell just short of clinching the division due to the tiebreaker against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They wouldn’t have any more luck after taking down the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card round as they fell to the eventual AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers in the divisional round in the rubber match after splitting two regular season contests, but there is plenty of reason to think that they will be able to get over that hump in 2011-12. Lewis and Reed are both expected to be back for at least one more season, and while Lewis isn’t the All Pro he once was his tenacity and aggression haven’t slowed down at all and Reed is still playing at an elite level when healthy.

Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata are in the prime of their careers, and as long as Fabian Washington can return to health the defense should rank among the best in the league once again. Quarterback Joe Flacco is now in his fourth season and has plenty of experience, and after a full season with Anquan Boldin those two should be even better. The offense will still hinge on the power-running game that has made them so strong in the past, with Ray Rice and Willis McGahee continuing to pound away.

The 2011-12 Baltimore roster should be as balanced as ever, and they should benefit from a weaker schedule than they had the previous season. The Ravens are scheduled to play 11 of their 16 games against teams that did not make the postseason in 2011, and if they can take advantage and clinch a bye in the opening round of the playoffs their veterans will have plenty of time to rest and prepare for another run. The theme has consistently been about one last chance yet here are the Ravens again looking to challenge for a Super Bowl title, with this year’s sports betting bonus team appearing to have all the elements of a unit that could very well go all the way.
