Bet On NBA – Bulls, Magic Showdown Highlights Busy Weekend In NBA

Posted by Brian Mulligan on 2/6/2014 1:04:45 AM

With the National Hockey League and National Football League each hosting their All-Star showcase with a week to go until the Super Bowl betting goes down, the National Basketball Association’s weekend schedule will get even more exposure. Here is a quick look at some of the most highly anticipated matchups from this weekend.

New Jersey Nets @ Indiana Pacers

Friday, 7:00 PM ET

The Nets have enjoyed a bit of a resurgence since owner Mikhail Prokhorov announced that management would seize their pursuit of Denver Nuggets’ forward Carmelo Anthony, an announcement that seemed to spark team chemistry. New Jersey has strung together consecutive wins, including a 16-point comeback victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in a 93-88 win on Wednesday. The Nets haven’t won three straight games in nearly two years, and it won’t be easy to end that run against a Pacers’ team that will look to bounce back after losing six straight. Indiana gave up a franchise-record 16 three-point shots in a loss to Orlando, and will be eager to erase those memories in front of their home crowd.

Pick: Pacers – 6.5

Orlando Magic @ Chicago Bulls

Friday, 8:00 PM ET

Two of the top teams in the Eastern conference will renew sports betting bonus hostilities when the Central-division leading Bulls host the Orlando Magic on Friday. Chicago is in the midst of a six-game home stand, and are hoping that three days of rest help them prepare for an Orlando team that dominated them in early December. The Magic hammered the Bulls 107-78 in their last meeting, in a game that guard Jameer Nelson dominated with a season-high 24 points. Derrick Rose hit just five of 13 shots in the loss, and there are concerns about whether he can raise his game to another level while dealing with stomach ulcers and an aching back. Chicago enters this game on a three-game winning streak, but has shot under 40-percent from the field over that span. They won’t be able to get by with those numbers against Orlando, which has won five of its last six on the road.

Pick: Magic – 1.5

Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Lakers

Friday, 10:30 PM ET

The Lakers will go for an incredible ninth straight win over the Kings when these teams meet at the Staples Center on Friday. Los Angeles is giving up an average of 96.3 points per game this season, and has won 10 of their last 12 with a scary mix of offense and defense. Sacramento has already dropped its first two meetings of the season to Los Angeles, and will have a tough time avoiding an embarrassment on the road in the third.

Pick: Lakers – 13.5

New Jersey Nets @ Milwaukee Bucks

Saturday, 8:30 PM ET

One sports betting night after playing in Indiana, the Nets will be in Milwaukee to take on a Bucks’ team that has been much better at home than on the road this season. New Jersey has strung together consecutive wins heading in to Friday night’s action, but are due for a letdown with road games on back-to-back nights. The Nets have just three road wins in 24 tries this season.

Pick: Bucks – 6.5
