Betting On NBA Basketball - Moneyball

“Moneyball”, the movie starring Brad Pitt, was nominated for a number of Academy Awards this season including Best Picture. But for our purposes today, Moneyball will be all about some prime time sports betting plays this week in the National Basketball Association.

Let’s start out in the Wild Wild West with the Sacramento Kings. On Friday, they catch the defending Dallas Mavericks in a back-to-back situation, as Dallas had to fly in after facing Phoenix on Thursday.

Dallas lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder early in the week when they were not aggressive and just jacked up a ton of outside shots.

There also has been a lot of sport betting online drama in Texas surroundings Lamar Odom, who had to leave for an extended period for a personal issue and has not yet got going under the new Texas system. When right, Odom is one on the toughest match-ups in the league as he can play all 5 positions but at this point in time it’s a matter of trust by his teammates and that can take time to earn.

As for the Kings, they covered 2 of their first 4 games in March including a cover against the Los Angeles Lakers and a cover in overtime against the Denver Nuggets despite the fact that arguably their best player DeMarcus Cousins was in foul trouble all night and only got in about 26 minutes.

Cousins has been immature at times, but he is growing up fast and has been mentored of late by Sacramento legend Chris Webber.

If Cousins has a good game, and he just might because Dallas has issues now with their big men, Sacramento may shine.

On a nightly basis he has averaged 16 points, ripped down 11 rebounds, and has shot a creditable 73% from the free throw line.

Despite only winning their first 12 of 38, Sacramento covered 20 times and may not only cover here but could win outright.

The bad news figures to just keep on coming for the Charlotte Bobcats and it doesn’t figure to get any better on Saturday night in Oklahoma City.

Charlotte can’t score, can’t defend and they are clearly the worst team in the league. They won one game, yes one game, in February and it was against the lowly Toronto Raptors. Not once in February did they score 100 points or more in a game.

That’s pitiful for an NBA team.

Charlotte will be playing in the second of a back-to-back game Saturday after hosting New Jersey and they are pretty much undermanned at every single position against the Thunder.

Oklahoma City won 16 of their first 17 home games this year for a rampant crowd that is always filled to the limits because the Thunder are the only ticket in town.

OKC is classically structured to boot. They have arguably the best player in the game in Kevin Durant and a bright light in point guard Russell Westbrook, who is brilliant but once he understands it’s his job to distribute, his game will go through the roof.

Factor in the possible Sixth Man of the Year in James Harden, the rough and tumble Nick Collison and the leading shot blocker in the game in Serge Ibaka, you have a young and dangerous team that will only get better.

The lean is to take the points in the Sacramento game in a contest they may be able to steal and lay as many as you have to against Charlotte as it just might be a ‘pick a number’ game.

Good luck on the betting websites.
