2015 NBA Betting – Picks For Games On Tuesday, April 7

Posted by Craig Parsons on 4/7/2015 4:53:04 AM

One week – that’s basically all that’s left in the NBA season. Teams are now hustling and regrouping, trying to make that one final desperate push which could mean everything.

Game 1: Charlotte Hornets @ Miami Heat – Tuesday, April 7

When seen just over a week ago, the Miami Heat were in seventh place in the Eastern Conference and seemed to have a clear path toward the playoffs. However, Dwyane Wade has been slowed down by some bumps and bruises lately, and a thin Heat team with a strong starting five has not known how to adjust. Since Miami has lost several games in a row and is no longer in good position to make the playoffs, the temptation will be there for the Heat to mail in their season and start fresh in the offseason. That is not what this team believes and hopes for, but at this point, Miami might subconsciously yearn for a chance to rest. This team played into the middle of June in each of the last four seasons. This season could be viewed as a chance to regroup. Miami just isn’t as likely to play this game with all-out effort as Charlotte is. Take the Hornets on the road.

NBA Betting Pick: Charlotte

Game 2: Golden State Warriors @ New Orleans Pelicans – Tuesday, April 7

When the Golden State Warriors lose a game, eyebrows are raised. When Golden State gets beaten up very easily – 107-92 – by the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday – it feels like a crisis, even if it isn’t. While Golden State trailed, 89-67, through the first three quarters of that game and didn’t ever seem sharp, San Antonio looked like a playoff contender in the Western Conference. Playing at home, it made full use of a key advantage: The Warriors were flat.

San Antonio probably wasn’t going to lose on Sunday, given the way things played out. Yet, Golden State has to be upset with its failure to even challenge the Spurs in a game a lot of people were looking forward to. The Warriors outscored San Antonio in the fourth quarter, 25-18, just to make the final score look a lot more responsible. Yet, that fourth quarter didn’t mask Golden State’s shaky performance.

Against New Orleans, the Warriors should be able to bounce back. The Pelicans want to be able to make their first deep run in the playoffs, so they are going to be motivated. However, Golden State is not going to lose two games in a row, which it could do if it lost this game. The Warriors are going to fix problems. When that desire becomes publicly and widely broadcast, we’ll see where these teams and athletes stand. For now, though, expect Golden State to get the job done away from home.

NBA Betting Pick: Golden State

Game 3: San Antonio Spurs @ Oklahoma City Thunder – Tuesday, April 7

Basketball is a funny thing. Months ago, San Antonio was the injured team that could not get untracked. Now, the Spurs are rolling. They are coming off a tremendous performance on Sunday against Golden State. Oklahoma City surrendered 115 points at home in a loss to Houston on Sunday. With these teams going in opposite directions, the Spurs stand out as a logical choice in Oklahoma City. Take San Antonio.

NBA Betting Pick: San Antonio
