Key Matchups Highlight Light NBA Schedule Tuesday Night

Posted by Craig Parsons on 4/1/2013 7:46:36 PM

The 2013 baseball season is underway, so with the playoff races a lot closer in the NHL than the NBA and the Miami Heat’s franchise-record 27-game win streak over, the mood around the association has changed a little bit. However, even with just three games on tap for Tuesday night there is some excellent value there, including a couple of key games with varying levels of importance.

Chicago Bulls (-3.5) @ Washington Wizards
Tuesday, 7:00 PM ET

It’s hard to hype up the Bulls’ sports betting trip to the nation’s capital, other than that this could be another chance for US President Barack Obama to hit up the Verizon Center after he was on hand to check out some Sweet 16 action. Obama is a Chicago-native, and grew up watching Michael Jordan and the Bulls when they were on top of the NBA. While this Chicago team isn’t anywhere close to that dynasty that Michael built, they are the team that ended Miami’s record win-streak, and they are in a fight to try and get to fourth in the Eastern Conference and earn home court advantage for at least the opening playoff round. The Bulls have actually been pretty good on the road this season, while the Wizards are on track to once again miss the playoffs.

NBA Betting Pick: Chicago Bulls – 3.5

New York Knicks @ Miami Heat (-3.5)
Tuesday, 8:00 PM ET

This game won’t mean much for a Miami team that has already locked up the top seed in the East, but the Knicks certainly have a lot to prove with the chance to earn their third win in four tries against the Heat this season as they continue to try and beat out the Indiana Pacers for the No. 2 spot in the standings. That spot would mean home court advantage should the Knicks and Pacers clash in the second round of the playoffs, which means New York still has everything to play for. Lebron James and Dwyane Wade should be back in the lineup after resting against the Spurs, a game that Miami won anyway with Chris Bosh and the team’s supporting cast stepping up to prove just how valuable they have been this season. The Knicks’ first two wins over the Heat has kept this online sports betting line lower than it should be, so look for the Heat to cover.

NBA Betting Pick: Miami Heat – 3.5

Dallas Mavericks @ Los Angeles Lakers (-2.5)
Tuesday, 10:30 PM ET

The game of the night will feature two teams in a fight to try and make the playoffs in the Western Conference, with both on the outside looking in heading in to Tuesday night. The Lakers have been decimated by injuries all year, but are right there with the Utah Jazz for that eighth and final playoff spot. Dallas meanwhile is two games back of the Jazz and Lakers, which means the Mavericks will be playing with an even greater sense of urgency heading in to this online betting contest. The problem for Dallas is that they don’t match up well against Dwight Howard and the Lakers’ size, and they have been awful on the road all year while Los Angeles has played its best basketball at the Staples Center.

NBA Betting Pick: Los Angeles Lakers – 2.5
