Tons of Question Marks From 6-10 In 2013 NBA Draft

Posted by Craig Parsons on 5/17/2013 6:17:48 PM

One of the biggest storylines in the NBA outside of the playoffs to this point is the state of the NBA Draft, as the majority of online sports betting experts believe this is one of the barest in recent years. There is no doubt that the talent at the top isn’t what is had been in past years, and that has opened the door for a ton of speculation for what the teams in the top-10 will do. While Ben McLemore and Nerlens Noel are expected to be taken in the top-five, the question marks are much bigger in from 6-10 in the draft. Here is what we think will happen in those spots based on need and availability.

6. Sacramento Kings – Anthony Bennett – PF – UNLV

Bennett should go higher, but there are some temptations at the top that could allow him to slip to sixth. The Kings need a lot of work, and Bennett is the kind of high-effort, low-maintenance player that could blossom in to a star, which makes him the perfect sports betting fit in Sacramento.

7. Detroit Pistons – Michael Carter-Williams – SG – Syracuse

The only reason Alex Len doesn’t go in this spot is because the Pistons already have a couple of potential All-Star centers in Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe, and need to be able to surround them with scorers. Carter-Williams has the complete skill set that could help make Detroit a contender again, and while the Draft as a whole may not be very deep, this is an excellent pick at No. 7.

8. Washington Wizards – Alex Len – C – Maryland

Len will make it past the Pistons at No. 7, but he won’t get past Washington at No. 8. The Wizards were a much better team once John Wall returned to the lineup, and he will get the most out of Len from the outset. Washington is another team that may not be that far away, and len will provide them with that excellent center prospect they are lacking.

9. Minnesota Timberwolves – Kentavious Caldewell-Pope – SG – Georgia

The Timeberwolves aren’t that far away in the West, especially when you consider that Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, and Alex Shved are all going to get the chance to play together this season. Minnesota is already very deep, but it needs another pure scorer that can take advantage of what Rubio and Shved bring to the floor. Enter Caldwell-Pope, one of the more underrated players in this online sportsbook class. Caldwell-Pope will take advantage of the extra space on the floor, and provide an underrated scoring threat.

10. Portland Trail Blazers – Shabazz Muhammed – SF – UCLA

The Trail Blazers scored big with NBA Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard in 2012, and some feel they were very fortunate to struggle late in the year as it gave them the opportunity to add another top-10 pick. Portland won’t get another talent of Lillard’s caliber, but they could land an important piece of they draft Muhammed. Lillard and LaMarcus Aldridge were one of the best inside-outside tandems in the Western Conference this season, and Muhammed will be that win player that can take advantage of the open space they create. The Blazers have some excellent young pieces, and Muhammed will be another.
