Missouri Texas A&M Betting Tips – No. 21 Missouri Looks For First SEC Road Win Thursday At College Station

Posted by Washington Tucker on 2/5/2013 5:56:52 PM

The No. 21 Missouri Tigers haven’t exactly exploded out of the gate on the road early on in SEC play this season. With a sports betting date at College Station this Thursday night, it isn’t about to get any easier. The Tigers will look for their first conference road win when they visit the Texas A&M Aggies, after going winless through their first three chances against SEC opponents. The Aggies have struggled early on in conference play themselves, but will undoubtedly be focused and ready as they look to add to Missouri’s road woes this week.

College Basketball Sportsbook Line: Missouri – 2.5

The Tigers have been an absolute mess early on in conference play, dropping double-digit losses at Ole Miss. and Florida before once again coming up short at LSU. While the Gators are undefeated within the SEC after eight-straight wins, LSU is just 3-5 in conference play and hadn’t knocked off a ranked opponent in six seasons.

College Basketball Betting Preview: Missouri

While Missouri was able to bounce back with a 14-point win over lowly Auburn at home, that did little to quiet whispers of how bad this team has performed on the road to this point where they have failed to top the 70-point mark through three-straight losses. In contract, the Tigers have scored at least 71 in each of their five home wins against SEC opponents, a sign the nation’s 30th-ranked scoring offense needs to get going on the road. Alex Oriakhi and Laurence Bowers are the two biggest reasons that Missouri ranks sixth in the nation with an average of 42 rebounds per game, and both will need to be good in this one as they look to dominate the boards and provide second and third opportunities at the offensive end of the floor while limiting what the Aggies can do.

College Basketball Betting Preview: Texas A&M

The Aggies have certainly struggled to get going on offense regardless of where they have played, as they have averaged just over 63.1 points per game this season. Senior guard Elston Turner has stood out with a team-high 15.7 points per game this online betting season, but Texas A&M doesn’t have many other quality scoring options outside of him and Fabyon Harris, and are particularly limited down low. The Aggies rank just 216th in the nation in rebounding without a single player averaging higher than 6.6 boards per game, and if they don’t do a better job boxing out the bigger Missouri forwards they could be in for a long night.

College Basketball Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick

For as bad as the Tigers have looked on the road early on, there is still a lot of basketball to be played and that means time for Missouri to turn things around. Texas A&M hasn’t been particularly dominant at home with three-straight losses at College Station, so don’t expect them to suddenly look like world beaters against the Tigers.
