College Football Betting: Week 7 CFB Preview

Posted by The Wiesguy on 10/12/2015 10:08:56 PM

It is hard to believe it but we are already halfway through the season. This week is a little light on great games but it is better thanks to surprise teams like Iowa and Northwestern who take on each other, and Florida, who might have as shot to beat LSU in Death Valley. This has been a weird season so far so you never know.

Thursday October 15

#20 UCLA Bruins vs. #16 Stanford Cardinal

10:30PM

Stanford -5.5

The PAC 12 is really feeding on itself this season. Right now the Cardinal are the only team undefeated in conference play in the North Division and with Oregon losing again it looks like they might be able to win it even with a loss. These teams would definitely want to meet again in the title game in December and for that to happen UCLA probably has to steal this one. That is going to mean that they are going to have to get this one. To do so they are going to have to play their toughest game of the season. I am not sure they have it in them so I can totally get behind Stanford.

Saturday October 17

#22 Iowa Hawkeyes vs. #13 Northwestern Wildcats

12:00PM

PK

Iowa may not look like a powerhouse but their wins are getting better. A couple of weeks ago they won a close one in Madison and now they will look to catch Northwestern licking their wounds. The Wildcats were undefeated prior to getting shutout by the Wolverines on Saturday. Up to that point the Northwestern defense has been spectacular though you had to question how that had happened all of a sudden. If they are for real they bounce back at home this weekend. Take Northwestern.

#11 Florida Gators vs. #7 LSU Tigers

7:00PM

LSU -6

Of all the teams that are still undefeated the Gators might be the biggest surprise. Yes they are Florida but nobody thought they would come around this quick. Their win at Mizzou last week certainly was impressive, even if that program is in a state of flux at QB. This week will be another stiff road test against the biggest weapon in the game, Tigers RB Leonard Fournette. He only rushed for 158 yards last week against South Carolina and the only way for the Gators to have a chance is to keep him in check. I won’t bet on that, take LSU. They are getting better each week.

Penn State Nittany Lions vs. #1 Ohio State Buckeyes

8:00PM

Ohio State -17.5

The Buckeyes continue to win and continue to make us feel like they might be a tad overrated in that top spot in the rankings. At least their game against Maryland was settled by more than a score. Penn State is one of the more confusing programs out there right now. They have Christian Hackenberg at QB and the scouts think he is great...but shouldn’t be be more productive and able to overcome some of the team’s shortcomings? We know he can stand in there and take a hit but that won’t be enough to keep PSU in the game in this one. Take the Buckeyes at home.
