Tips For Betting On Texas Kansas State –Kansas State Tries To Lock Up Big 12 Championship

The Kansas State Wildcats have put together a really good season. They just need to win one more game to capture their first conference championship since the 2003 season.

Texas Longhorns @ Kansas State Wildcats– Saturday, December 1

Football betting line: Kansas State -11.5

Why TexasWill Win

No bet on sports should count out Texas in this game. It's true that David Ash has been a better quarterback for the Longhorns this year than Case McCoy, but the fact that McCoy knows he'll be the starter for this game might enable him to get a head start on preparation and therefore produce a much better performance than his season-long stats might indicate. The other thing to realize about McCoy is that he's not being asked to shoulder the load for a whole season. He is basically being asked to win one game on one night. Knowing that this is his season finale, McCoy will have extra incentive to play well and give his coaching staff added reason to consider him as the leader for the starting quarterback job in the 2013 regular season. McCoy is in many ways auditioning for next year, and that could really help him along against Kansas State.

The best reason to take Texas here is the Longhorns' defense. Texas was absolutely atrocious on defense over the course of the first two months of the season, but the Longhorns have come alive on this side of the ball in the month of November. Whatever was ailing Texas' defense has largely been solved. Defensive coordinator Manny Diaz has finally gotten through to his players and found solutions for the nonexistent tackling and weak linebacker play that decimated this defense. Kansas State has struggled on offense in its past two games, the product of a concussion suffered by quarterback Collin Klein. If Klein is still rusty, Texas can play a low-scoring game and dig out an upset win.

Why Kansas StateWill Win

Even mma betting experts know that Kansas State boss Bill Snyder is a coach who should not be bet against. The Wildcats have outperformed everyone's expectations this season, winning at Oklahoma in September to take control of the Big 12 Conference. The Wildcats have impressively maintained their form for most of the season, suffering a slight dip in recent weeks only because their star quarterback, Heisman Trophy contender Collin Klein, got concussed in a 44-30 win over Oklahoma State on Nov. 3. Klein has gained two weeks of much-needed rest in advance of this contest. He should be fresher, sharper, and ready to regain the form that made him the Heisman frontrunner in early November, before he lost ground to likely winner Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M. The fact that Klein's opposite number is struggling Texas quarterback Case McCoy only heightens KSU's chances of winning.

Who Will Win

Don't bet against Collin Klein, Bill Snyder, or the rest of the Kansas State roster. This team is ready to regroup and bounce back from its loss to Baylor. Take the Wildcats in this situation.
