Four of the Best Super Bowl Prop Bets
The Super Bowl is a time for sports gamblers to do research on two specific teams and place a larger than usual wager on who they think will win. Unsurprisingly the Super Bowl is one of the most widely gambled on sporting events of the year, and it’s not just because of the spread and point total bets. Prop bets are always a fun thing to think about, but they also bring gamblers plenty of more opportunities to make money off one single game. Some are more complex than others and some are just plain luck, but here are four of the better prop bets for Super Bowl XLVIII.
Will it snow during the game at MetLife Stadium? Yes: +150; No: -200
This year’s big game is being held in New Jersey, in the middle of winter, at an open aired stadium. This brings with it the high possibility of snow occurring during the event, and when you take into account how long the Super Bowl is because of the extended commercials and half time show, there’s an increased likelihood of snow coming down during the event.
Will any Seahawks player kiss his biceps after scoring TD? Yes: +400; No: -800
Although there isn’t any players on the Seattle Seahawks roster that usual kiss their biceps after a touchdown it is a signature celebration of Colin Kaepernick, the quarterback the Seahawks beat last weekend. Richard Sherman did a nice job of taunting Kapernick and the 49ers after beating them last weekend, and I really wouldn’t be surprised if him or someone else who scores kisses their bicep just to get one last shot on the quarterback who threw two interceptions, including the one that ended the game.
What will be the highest decibel level shown on TV? Over/under =135.5
For the average Joe this is a prop bet that will almost fully rely on guessing and getting lucky. Not only does the average person not know what 135 decibels sounds like, but they also have to show on camera that the decibel level is over 135.5. For this reason I lean towards the under, and the fact that the game is played in an open air stadium also leads me to believe it won’t be as loud.
Who will have more rushing yards in the game? Marshawn Lynch (-17.5) or Knowshon Moreno (+17.5)
Although Moreno is getting an additional 17.5 yards on this prop bet, I would still lean towards Lynch as being the better sports betting pick. The Seahawks have a dominating defense that not only will give Peyton Manning some trouble, but the Denver running game as well. Lynch on the other hand is a beast of a runner who is going up against a shorthanded Denver defense that likely will give up over 100 rushing yards to the Seahawks.
