49ers Cardinals Betting Predictions – Cardinals Look To Snap Skid, Move In To Top Spot
The Arizona Cardinals have allowed a promising start to unravel in to an average mid-season grading. It won’t get any easier this week with the division-leading San Francisco 49ers in town. The Cardinals can stop the bleeding and take a major step forward if they can snap a three-game slide against the 49ers this week, a victory that would boost them in to a tie for top spot in the division at the midway mark of their sports betting season.

NFL Betting Line: San Francisco 49ers – 6.5
Overcoming a tough challenge from the 49ers won’t be easy regardless of where this game is played especially considering San Francisco has already won games at Green Bay and New York this season. The visitors will also have the luxury of an extra three days to prepare, after beating the Seattle Seahawks at home last Thursday night.
NFL Betting Preview: San Francisco 49ers
That division win can be attributed to another solid performance from the 49ers’ defense, as well as the all-around show that running back Frank Gore put on with 182 total yards. The San Francisco defense limited the Seahawks to a pair of field goals in the win, while Gore rushed for 131 yards and added another 51 on five receptions. However, even with the win the 49ers still have plenty of room for improvement. Quarterback Alex Smith threw another interception last week to match his season total from a year ago with five, and somehow didn’t target tight end Vernon Davis all game. The weapons are in place for San Francisco to succeed this season, but they will need to improve through the air if they are going to compete with the best from the NFC.
NFL Betting Preview: Arizona Cardinals
Despite their record over the past three weeks, the Cardinals have come close in each of their last two losses, with a lack of finish a major reason. Arizona will once again turn to quarterback John Skelton without Kevin Kolb available due to injury, and he performed well last week throwing for 262 yards and a touchdown to go with an interception. Running back LaRod Stephens-Howling averaged 5.2 yards per carry last week while running for 104 yards and a touchdown, and the Cardinals would certainly benefit if he can come close to those numbers again this week. Of course, that will be much tougher against a stingy 49ers’ defense, against which it will be on Arizona to hold its own. The Cardinals’ defense ranks fourth against the pass, but only 20th against the run, and will need to find a way to at least slow down Gore in the rushing attack.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Cardinals are still in an excellent position considering they are just one game back of the division lead, but it doesn’t help that they don’t match up well against the team they are attempting to overtake in the NFC West. San Francisco has done an excellent job moving the ball on the ground this season, and should have no problem against an Arizona defense that ranks 20th in the NFL against the run with an average of 120.9 rushing yards against. The online sportsbook underdogs have had some success this season, but that could be reason why this line is shorter than it should be.
