49ers Have Chance To Turn Season Around In Game Against St. Louis Rams
The San Francisco 49ers have gotten off to a worse start than expected, and with a current 1-2 record they will have a chance to approach the .500 mark on the year if they beat the St. Louis Rams this Thursday night. The 49ers have had some tough opponents so far, but the Rams should be one of the easier ones they have faced so far which is why sports books are already favoring the 49ers.

What To Watch For From The San Francisco 49ers
Colin Kaepernick hasn’t been as efficient as he was last season which is likely the reason the 49ers currently have a losing record. Kaepernick and the 49ers haven’t been able to run the read-option to the same effectiveness they did last season which is also currently holding them back. Kaepernick instead has been completing an unimpressive 56% of his passes while also tossing one more interception than touchdown through three games. The 49ers defense also seems to have taken a step back from last season as the are giving up an average of 28 points against per game while their offense is only scoring an average of 15 points per game. The 49ers have some problems to fix, but going up against the 1-2 Rams presents them with an opportunity to get another early season victory.
What To Watch For From The St. Louis Rams
The Rams have continued to rely on the arm of Sam Bradford on offense as they are gaining an average of 287 yards through the air each game while collecting only 57 per game on the ground. The Rams have yet to prove they have a NFL quality running back and for that reason Bradford has thrown the ball 141 times through three games. The gameplan for the Rams likely won’t change much for this Thursday night match-up meaning the quarterbacks in this game will have a huge impact on who emerges victorious. The Rams’ defense has had a hard time stopping any offense this season which means the 49ers will likely get on the scoreboard early.
The spread for this game is a measly 3.5 points, and it is likely so close because of the lack of performance from the 49ers this season. But lets not forget they did beat the Green Bay Packers in convincing fashion Week 1 and are still top dog in the NFC West The Rams are looking set-up for the future as they have plenty of key, young players making a difference on their team right now, but the 49ers have plenty to prove against the Rams in Week 4, which is why I have confidence in them winning this game and getting back on track.
