49ers Rams Betting – 49ers Turn Their Attention To Home Field, Bye Versus Rams
Exactly one year ago, it was the St. Louis Rams that battled the Seattle Seahawks with the NFC West division on the line in a contest that was expected to foreshadow the future of a team that it seemed had finally turned the corner and was ready to emerge as a quality contender. However, the Rams lost that game, and have gone on to lose several more this season, including six straight heading in to their finale against the San Francisco 49ers, the team that has emerged to take over control of the NFC West, with its sights set on bigger and better things as the playoffs roll around as big sports betting favorites for this Sunday’s game.

Very few projected that 49ers’ head coach Jim Harbaugh would be able to help turn his new team’s fortunes around so quickly, but his ability to both lead and game plan have helped San Francisco lock up a division title. The 49ers have now turned their attention to a possible first round bye and home field advantage for their first postseason game, so a win on the road this week would still mean a lot.

A strong rushing attack and the ability to stop the run on defense have been the two biggest keys to the 49ers’ success, as they have found ways to control the tempo of the game, and play with focus and dedication on every snap. San Francisco’s defense ranks first in the NFL against the run, and while they still have work to do against the pass it helps to make the opponent more one-dimensional. The offense is spearheaded by running back Frank Gore, who has average 4.4 yard per carry to reach 1,202 total on the year, including eight touchdowns. Quarterback Alex Smith continues to do what is asked of him, and that has prevented him from not being overexposed.
49ers Rams Betting Preview: St. Louis Rams
Defense was supposed to be a strong suit of the Rams by this point under head coach Steve Spagnuolo, but considering they rank dead last in the NFL against the run, it has been hard for them to stop anyone. Injuries haven’t helped the team’s situation, but the bottom line is that too many of the players expected to be top talents have not developed accordingly, or been healthy enough to show it. St. Louis has just one home game all year, and that is simply not good enough.
49ers Rams Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
With so many things not going their way this season, look for the Rams to rally hard one more time and at least keep this game under the sportsbook number. San Francisco has too much on the line to come in and lose this game, but St. Louis will at least keep it respectable.49ers Rams Betting Pick: St. Louis Rams
