49ers Look To Take Advantage Of Bears’ Weaknesses On Sunday Night Football
The San Francisco 49ers made a statement on the road in week one with a win over the Dallas Cowboys. Now they will look to move to 2-0 in the first regular season game to be played at the new Levis Stadium. The 49ers are listed as seven-point favorites against a Chicago Bears’ team coming off an overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills as a home favorite in week one. Chicago was talked about as the NFC team most likely to become a contender in 2014 but now faces the prospects of an 0-2 start unless they can find a way to put together a much better performance on both sides of the ball against San Francisco.

NFL Betting Odds: San Francisco -7
The Bears’ run defense was torched for nearly 200 rushing yards by the Bills while turnovers plagued the offense including two Jay Cutler interceptions. The 49ers do a lot of the same things that Buffalo did well only San Francisco has more talent and that could lead to major issues for Chicago in week two.
NFL Betting Preview: Chicago Bears
Stopping the run remains key for a Bears’ team that was beaten up on the ground time and again a year ago. Now they have to find a way to slow down Frank Gore, Carlos Hyde, and Colin Kaepernick against a tough offensive line that runs a ton of different looks. Chicago’s secondary is better now than it was at the end of last season but remains vulnerable unless the defensive line can get some pressure on the quarterback. Cutler threw for 349 yards and two touchdowns while completing close to 70-percent of his passes last week but two that he missed resulted in interceptions. Wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery both missed practice on Wednesday and injuries will be a concern even if they do play.
NFL Betting Preview: San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers won’t hesitate to get physical with the Bears’ receivers on the outside if they know they are playing hurt. The San Francisco defense is without NaVorro Bowman and Aldon Smith but they were all over the Cowboys in week one and should continue to get pressure up front. The 49ers ran for 127 yards on the ground in week one with running backs Frank Gore and Carlos Hyde combining to average 5.6 yards per carry. That tandem will get plenty of touches this week and will look to make a suspect Chicago defense pay. Colin Kaepernick looked solid in the opener despite throwing for just over 200 yards as he had two touchdowns and no interceptions. A similar performance this weekend should move San Francisco to 2-0.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The 49ers have the tough rushing attack and a quality quarterback that can take advantage by going over the top once the opposing defense wears down and that is exactly what they will try to do against the Bears this weekend. Chicago is already dealing with injuries on offense so expect Cutler and company to have a tough time keeping up with San Francisco in this game.
