Bet Dolphins Patriots – Fish Show They Could Be A Problem In 2012
Miami’s online betting chances went down the drain with an 0-7 start, but the Dolphins have been on a roll as they head into New England this weekend to take on the Patriots, who are coming off a big road win. The Dolphins won’t be able to win in New England, but the way they’re playing right now, they’re going to push the Patriots all the way to the final whistle.

Why Bet On Miami Dolphins (5-9 SU, 7-7 ATS)
The Dolphins had to hold off a fierce rivalry in a 30-23 win in Buffalo in their first game under interim head coach Todd Bowles, who replaced the fired Tony Sparano, and they got another huge game from Reggie Bush, who ran for 203 yards and a score on 25 carries. Bush had been erasing his tag as a bust this season, but this is by far his best outing of the season and it’s a very encouraging sign for next season. Matt Moore was 10-of-20 for 217 yards and two touchdowns for the Dolphins, who did lose three fumbles (one each by Bush, Moore and Brandon Marshall) on a cold and slick day in Buffalo. However, they needed a little help as the Dolphins were only 3-of-13 on third down and failed to score on all four trips to the red zone; they moved the chains thanks to three penalties by the Bills and the defense was opportunistic with three interceptions. Miami also stopped the Bills on 11 third-down chances.
Tackle Jake Long (back) had to sit out last week and the Dolphins may stick with fellow offensive lineman John Jerry as they don’t want to risk their franchise left tackle. Moore (neck) was questionable heading into the Buffalo game, and his availability will be watched this week as the Dolphins’ NFL betting odds depend on his status. Not only for this game, but for next year as the Dolphins have been one of the better teams in the league over the second half of the season. A win in New England would be a massive feather in their cap.
Why Bet On New England Patriots (11-3 SU, 8-5-1 ATS)
For all the talk surrounding New England’s trip to Denver, you would’ve thought that the Broncos’ Tim Tebow was the only quarterback in the game. Tom Brady made sure you remembered him in a 41-23 win, going 23-of-34 for 320 yards and two touchdown passes, along with a sneak for a score that was punctuated by one of the strongest touchdown spikes of the season. The Broncos looked like they were dead set on keeping Rob Gronkowski and Wes Welker quiet, and the two combined for eight catches for 94 yards, but Brady hooked up with Aaron Hernandez nine times for 129 yards and a score and he even found Chad Ochocinco for a 33-yard touchdown. The Patriots even ran for 141 yards in one of their most thorough performances of the season, and it all starts with Brady, who looked extremely focused. The defense forced three fumbles on the day (the Patriots didn’t turn the ball over) and even though they gave up 252 yards on the ground, they never let Denver’s rushing game dominate, which it had been doing as of late.
Defensive end Andre Carter (quadriceps) is now out for the season, which robs the Patriots of their best pass rusher, while receiver Deion Branch (groin) and safety Patrick Chung (foot) have to be monitored as well. Still, as long as Brady and head coach Bill Belichick are around, the Patriots will be an NFL betting favorite for the Super Bowl and the Denver game symbolized why they’re great: they’re ruthless and any chance they get to make a statement, they make it emphatically. It shouldn’t be hard for the Patriots to find motivation against a division rival, and even though they’ve clinched the AFC East, they still want first place in the conference so they can force everyone to come to New England throughout the playoffs.
How It Will Play Out
The Patriots are 10-point favorites at home according to NFL betting odds, and they’re 4-1 SU and 2-3 ATS in their last five in New England against the Bills, with three of the game going under the posted total. Miami is 4-3 ATS on the road this season, while the Patriots are 3-3 ATS at home.
New England could look at this as another statement game as the Dolphins have been playing extremely well and are looking to close out the season with a bang. Miami could be able to move the ball against the New England defense, but can they avoid turnovers? The Patriots don’t turn the ball over and in games where they have fewer turnovers than their opponents since 2001 (since Brady took over as the starter), the Patriots are 101-4, so they should be your pick for an SU bet. However, the Miami offense has been rolling and they’ll do enough to keep it close when it comes to the sports betting spread.Dolphins Patriots Betting Pick: Miami Dolphins
