Bet On 49ers Seahawks – Surging Seahawks Look To Play Spoiler Against Division Rivals
A year ago at this time, the Seattle Seahawks were battling with the St. Louis Rams for a shot at the NFC West title. Fast-forward one year later, and while the Seahawks and Rams were both expected to contend for a division title once again, it is actually the San Francisco 49ers that have come out of nowhere, and had the NFC West locked up at the beginning of December. The 49ers have shifted their focus from a division title to home field advantage and a first round bye in the postseason, but in order to move one step closer to that goal they will need to find a way to stop the surging Seahawks.

NFL Betting Lines: San Francisco 49ers – 1.5
Seattle has rebounded from a slow start to the year with three straight victories and five wins in their last six games overall to climb back to .500. A couple more wins in September or October would have allowed the Seahawks to fight for an NFC Wild Card spot to close out the year, but for now they will have to settle for the role of spoiler.
Bet On 49ers Seahawks Preview: San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers are listed as sports betting favorites on the road this week, even though they have lost its past two away from Candlestick Park and have to play in the hostile environment of CenturyLink Field. The San Francisco defense teed off on a helpless Ben Roethlisberger in a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, but will now have their top-ranked run defense tested by Marshawn Lynch on a short week. The 49ers have relied on Frank Gore and their own rushing attack perhaps more than they should this year, but sooner or later quarterback Alex Smith is going to need to put together a quality performance to prove they can be legitimate contenders in the NFC.
Bet On 49ers Seahawks Preview: Seattle Seahawks
Having a quarterback step up and prove he can help make his team a contender is something that the Seahawks have looked for all year, and they continue to get mixed results from Tarvaris Jackson. The emergence of Lynch has been crucial after he set a franchise record with 10 straight games with at least one rushing score in last Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears, and he will need another big performance this week. The Seattle defense ranks in the top-half of the league against both the run and pass, and if they can prove they can handle the 49ers at home, they will have even more optimism for next year.
Bet On 49ers Seahawks Preview: Outlook & Pick
The sportsbook underdog team is playing this game as though it is their Super Bowl, while the 49ers are waiting for their chance to challenge for a spot in the big game once the playoffs get underway. San Francisco is coming off of an emotional win on short rest, and after dropping their past two on the road it is hard to believe they will come back big in this game.Bet On 49ers Seahawks Pick: Seattle Seahawks
