Betting On Bears Vikings – Vikings, Bears Clash A Reminder Of How Quick Things Change
Only a year ago it was the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings that were favored to win the NFC North division, but that was before injuries and inconsistencies tore through these two franchises, and in their slide emerged the Green Bay Packers. That sequence of events is proof of how quick things can change in the NFL, and as Minnesota prepares to host the Bears with nothing more than pride on the line, but teams have already turned their attention towards preparing for next season. The sports betting line says that there is no favorite for this game, something that could not have been foreseen before Cutler was injured.

NFL Betting Line: PICK
While the Bears will feel confident moving forward once quarterback Jay Cutler returns from a broken finger, the same cannot be said about Minnesota just yet, as they still have to see more of their rookie quarterback Christian Ponder. Ponder has played well, but has yet to show the consistency required to be a franchise quarterback.
Betting On Bears Vikings Preview: Chicago Bears
There is no doubt that Cutler is the franchise quarterback in Chicago, however there should be a little doubt about their head coaching position, considering the way that the Bears melted down the stretch. While injuries to Cutler and running back Matt Forte were both major blows to the team’s potential, Lovie Smith did have the opportunity to go out and sign a free agent such as Donovan McNabb or Brett Favre, and if he had then perhaps Chicago would be fighting for a Wild Card spot this weekend. The Bears have dropped five straight since Celeb Hanie took over for the injured Cutler, and are now at risk of finishing below .500 on the year.
Betting On Bears Vikings Preview: Minnesota Vikings
A decision on Ponder and the direction the team will take after cutting McNabb earlier in the year will be made in time, but for now the Vikings’ biggest concern will be the health of running back Adrian Peterson, as a torn ACL could affect his status for next season. Peterson was an integral piece to the Minnesota offense, and without him the Vikings will turn to Ponder and Toby Gerhart to lead the offense. After dominating up front for several years, the Vikings’ run defense ranks 11th in the NFL, and they are in the bottom-three against the pass. Those numbers won’t help an offensively limited team in their season finale, and are a sign of the major change needed going forward in Minnesota.
Betting On Bears Vikings Preview: Outlook & Pick
For as awful as the Bears have been with Hanie as their starter, losing a sixth straight and finishing the year below .500 with a loss to the Vikings is too painful to imagine for the fans in Chicago. The sportsbook line says this game does not have a favorite, and now it is up to the Bears to address that and finish strong.Betting On Bears Vikings Pick: Chicago Bears
