Betting Predictions For Cowboys Chargers – Cowboys, Chargers Meet In Clash Of Defenses On The Rise
The Dallas Cowboys were held to just a field goal in their 3-0 win over the Oakland Raiders in week one of the 2012 NFL preseason. Staying on the California coast this weekend for a game against the San Diego Chargers won’t make points any easier to come by. The Chargers roughed up the Green Bay Packers’ first-team offense in a 21-13 win to open their exhibition schedule, limiting the MVP quarterback to two completions and forcing an interception and fumble in the first half. San Diego will need its defense to play at that high level all season in order to be successful, and they should come out hungry again against the Cowboys this sports betting weekend.

NFL Betting Line: San Diego Chargers – 3
Dallas wasn’t able to get much of anything going in a close win over the Raiders, and while the result means nothing in the long run how they achieved that result is important. The Cowboys struggled to move the ball through the air all game, and now will need to find a way to execute without tight end Jason Witten, who is out with an injured spleen.
NFL Betting Preview: Dallas Cowboys
Finding another option behind Witten after losing Martellus Bennett to the rival New York Giants in the offseason has to be frustrating, but there is still time to figure things out for Dallas. Running back Jamize Olawale had a strong game against the Raiders and is in a tough battle to make the team along with Javarris Williams, so keep an eye on the rushing attack as they continue to fight for position. The one bright spot the Cowboys can take from week one is the play of their defense, which shut out the Raiders with two sacks and a pair of interceptions. Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan expects to be able to do much more in his second season after the team got the system down in year one.
NFL Betting Preview: San Diego Chargers
Two years removed from owning the best defense in the NFL, the Chargers could climb back in to the top-five if they continue to swarm the quarterback the way they did against the Packers. The additions of veteran Jarrett Johnson and rookie Melvin Ingram to the linebacker core cannot be underestimated, and it showed in San Diego’s attack week one. Backup quarterback Jarrett Lee threw for 235 yards and a touchdown in his pro debut, and the Chargers like what they have seen from the former LSU passer. Phillip Rivers is likely to get more than the five snaps he did in the opener, but look for Lee to handle the bulk of the load once again.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
While the Chargers’ defense has been talked about all week, that Dallas defense looks pretty good too and Ryan hasn’t even begin to throw out all of his blitz packages just yet. The Cowboys’ offense disappointed without a single touchdown score in the opener, and while it won’t get any easier at San Diego they should be able to do enough to cover the online football betting spread.NFL Betting Pick: Dallas Cowboys
