Betting Tips For Seahawks Broncos – Manning Makes Home Debut For Broncos
After watching what Andrew Luck did for his debut with the Indianapolis Colts last week, the sportsbook experts have mentioned Peyton Manning’s competitive edge and what he might have in store for the fans when he makes his home debut for the Denver Broncos this Saturday. Manning completed 4 of 7 passes for 44 yards but threw a tough interception in Denver’s 31-3 win over the Chicago Bears in week one of the preseason. While many were quick to anoint No. 18 as being “back”, some would still like to see a little more out of the four-time NFL MVP before they are sold on that idea.

The Seahawks were among the teams interested in Manning’s services once it was made known he was available, but just as quickly as word of his free agency passed around, word of his unwillingness to work out for Seattle reached Pete Carroll. The result was the signing of Matt Flynn to join Tavaris Jackson and rookie Russell Wilson in a three-way battle for the starting job, with Flynn the frontrunner to land the job as he starts again this week.

Carroll has said that Wilson can move one step closer to closing in on the starting job with another strong performance this week in Denver. The rookie third-round pick completed 75-percent of his passes, threw for a touchdown and rushed for another in the second-half of Seattle’s 27-17 win over the Tennessee Titans in the exhibition opener, proof to many that he at least should get consideration for the job. While the Seahawks spent a lot of money on Flynn in the offseason, Carroll has remained open to the idea of Wilson or Jackson as his opening day starter, and that may not be a good thing this late in the process.
NFL Betting Preview: Denver Broncos
While it won’t matter in the long run, backup quarterbacks Brock Osweller and Adam Weber actually looked very good against the Bears, combining for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. Manning will certainly aim to throw his first score with the Broncos at Mile High on Saturday, while running backs Jeremiah Johnson and Xavier Omon continue to battle for a spot on the depth chart behind Willis McGahee, Knowshon Moreno, and Lance Ball. The Denver defense was a big part of the team’s success a year ago, and looked good again against Chicago with six sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
While the Seahawks will take this game as another step in finding their starting quarterback, this game will mean much more than any other preseason contest for Manning and the Broncos. Denver fans consider this team a legitimate Super Bowl contender with Manning under center and with all that has happened in Indianapolis in the last week, it’s easy to understand why the sports betting experts feel as though the veteran quarterback is bound to have a strong performance in his debut at Mile High.
