Bills Browns Betting Tips – Browns Try To Make The Final Climb Against Bills
The Cleveland Browns made a lot of progress from one week to the next in their loss to Cincinnati this past Sunday. Now, they'll try to win their first game of the NFL season.
Buffalo Bills @ Cleveland Browns – Sunday, September 23
Online betting line: Buffalo -3
Why Buffalo Will Win
In much the same way that an online poker game offers that river card you don't expect, the Buffalo Bills have been a wild card through the first two weeks of the season… in a way that works to their advantage versus Cleveland.
After a crash-and-burn disaster against the New York Jets in week one, Buffalo stood on shaky ground entering its second game of the season against the Kansas City Chiefs, and pigskin pundits across the country didn't know what to expect. They definitely weren't prepared for a strong and authoritative outing in which the Bills throttled the Chiefs. Buffalo rushed for over 200 yards, forced three Kansas City turnovers, and basically authored the exact narrative it witnessed in week one… except for one thing: The Bills were on the giving end, not the receiving end, of a beatdown. A week ago, the Bills fell behind the Jets, 41-7, well before the third quarter was over. In this week two tilt, the Bills forged a 35-3 lead over the Chiefs with 3:46 left in the third quarter.
What will Buffalo do this week? It's anybody's guess, but the Bills have to be a lot more confident at this point. They have every right to think that they've solved a number of the problems that held them back in week one.
It's also quite necessary to note that Cleveland is one of the three or four worst teams in the NFL. It never hurts to play a bad team, and after disposing of the awful Chiefs, the Bills are getting another generous break on the schedule. They should be able to limit Cleveland's offense in this game. As long as Buffalo quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick can steer clear of turnovers, the outlook is promising for the Bills.
Why Cleveland Will Win
When NFL betting students do their homework in preparation for this game, they will realize that the Browns, for all their weaknesses and deficiencies, are headed in the right direction, working through their problems so that they can change both their outlook and their on-field results.
The Browns' two big draft picks, quarterback Brandon Weeden and running back Trent Richardson, played well against the Bengals. Weeden, in a very encouraging turn of events, was able to shrug off his four-interception opener against the Philadelphia Eagles and display poise in the pocket. Richardson hit holes well and ran with the authoritativeness the Browns expect. If these two rookies deliver the goods against Buffalo, Cleveland will win. What also needs to be said is that Weeden, shortly before turning 29 years old, is not a typical rookie. He should have the presence of mind to lead his teammates and have a very calming effect in the huddle. The Browns are not as unstable as one might think, and Weeden has a lot to do with that reality.
Who Will Win
It’s going to be a very close contest in this matchup between teams from two Great Lakes cities that aren’t very far apart in a geographical sense. Ultimately, the Bills' upward direction is more pronounced than the Browns' upward trend. Buffalo's defense will clamp down and win a low-scoring game.NFL Football Betting Pick: Buffalo
