Manning, Broncos Look To Stay Perfect Against Rodgers, Packers On Sunday Night Football
The Denver Broncos have managed to stay undefeated and improve to 6-0 despite some shaky play at the quarterback position. They will need a better performance from their most important player against one of the league’s best teams on Sunday. Denver will be looking to improve to 7-0 when they take on another undefeated team and Super Bowl contender in the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football in the Mile High city. There are plenty of storylines surrounding this battle of teams with perfect records but the spotlight will be on two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks as Peyton Manning duels with Aaron Rodgers in the game of the week.
Green Bay Packers @ Denver Broncos

NFL Betting Line: Green Bay -3
There is no doubt about Manning’s status as a future Hall of Fame quarterback but after struggling early on this season there are obvious question marks about whether or not he can lead Denver back to the Super Bowl. Manning has completed 61.6-percent of his passes for 1,524 yards but he has thrown just seven touchdowns compared to 10 interceptions and he has been sacked 12 times already. It’s easy to see that Manning doesn’t have the same zip on his passes but the more puzzling concern is the fact that he has made so many bad decisions with the football that have led to turnovers. The Broncos top-ranked defense has been able to help bail him out to this point with the second-most takeaways in the NFL but they will have their hands full with Rodgers and they need Manning to be at his best in this one. Rodgers has already thrown for 1,491 yards and 15 touchdowns compared to just two interceptions and Green Bay hasn’t looked at risk of dropping a game at any point so far this year. The Packers would like to get their running game going in order to try and keep the Denver defense off balance and that means they will need a big game from Eddie Lacy. The Green Bay defense ranks in the middle of the pack in takeaways this year and the key to this game could very well be their ability to get pressure on Manning and force him in to mistakes. Even despite his struggles that might not be easy with the Broncos coming off a bye week and Manning getting an extra week of preparation for this contest. There aren’t many situations where a Manning-led team is a three-point underdog at home but that is exactly what Denver is this week so we will take the three points and bet they cover on Sunday Night Football.
Pick: Denver +3
Both teams have the potential to put up big numbers but Green Bay is coming off a 27-20 win over the San Diego Chargers in which they struggled to create separation versus a relatively mediocre defense and they will have a much tougher time scoring points against the Broncos. Meanwhile, Denver will want to play the possession game in order to move the ball effectively and keep Rodgers off of the field so look for a lower scoring game that stays under the 45.5-point total.
