Browns Ravens Betting – Ravens Have Eye On Division, First Round Bye

The Baltimore Ravens had an excellent chance to take control in the AFC a week ago as they traveled to the west coast to take on the San Diego Chargers, and while they didn’t get the job done, the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a power outage of their own the next night has given them a chance to redeem themselves. The Ravens return home this Sunday to face a Cleveland Browns’ team that has struggled to remain competitive, and with the division and possibly a first round bye and home field advantage on the line, there are simply no valid excused for Baltimore not to clinch this one.

NFL Betting Lines: Baltimore Ravens – 13

The Browns have managed some close wins over inferior opponents to get to four wins, but in their first meeting against Baltimore a few weeks ago they lost by two touchdowns and that was at home, so it makes sense that the sports betting spread will be around that mark this week.

Browns Ravens Betting Preview: Cleveland Browns

It hasn’t been so much one or two players that have really hurt the Browns this season as much as it has been the collective team really never looking that good. While the pass defense ranks third in the NFL, a big part of that is teams choosing instead to pound the rock against the league’s second-worst run defense, which has allowed an average of 145.4 yards per game. Meanwhile, the offense hasn’t performed as expected with running back Peyton Hillis looking like a shadow of his former self due to injuries and inconsistencies, and sophomore quarterback Colt McCoy failing to take another step forward.

Browns Ravens Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick

While the Ravens should probably have already locked up the division according to who they have lost to in comparison to the teams they have beaten, head coach Jon Harbaugh will preach the positive and point out that they have two quality chances against inferior AFC North opponents the next two weeks. Baltimore should go back to featuring the running game with running back Ray Rice potentially battering the Browns’ awful rush defense, and allowing quarterback Joe Flacco the time to go over the top with some big plays. Linebacker Ray Lewis was back in the lineup last week, and after suffering a tough loss in his return he should be pumped up to help get things back on track.

Browns Ravens Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick

Considering the way in which the Ravens have lost games that they probably should have won on several occasions this year, and all that is on the line for them in this game, it is unlikely that they will overlook another quality chance to get the job done and cover the sportsbook spread. The Browns have done little to prove they can compete with a talented team like Baltimore, and that should be reflected again in the final score this Sunday.
