Buccaneers Redskins Betting – Bucs Continue Playoff Push
Sports betting players are witnessing a wreck in Washington, where the Washington Redskins are a mess on both sides of the ball as they prepare to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Redskins have fallen apart on and off the field, while the Bucs have feasted on bad teams, which Washington is this year, and that should be enough to give them the edge in your online sportsboook.

What’s On The Line
The Bucs (7-5) showed they still have a way to go as they lost a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter of a 28-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons at home, while the Redskins (5-7) were blown out 31-7 on the road against the New York Giants as they had a terrible time holding onto the ball. The Bucs have more on the line as they’re still in the playoff race, while the Redskins are playing for 2011 and beyond, but definitely not this year. Tampa Bay will be trying to keep up their theme of beating bad teams.
Offensive Matchups: Buccaneers Redskins Betting
Tampa Bay was very efficient against the Falcons as Josh Freeman passed for 181 yards, a touchdown and a pick, while running for 151 yards as a team. But Freeman’s pick came late in the game, and the Bucs also had another injury up front, which isn’t good news for the stretch run. LaGarrette Blount ran for 103 yards and a score, but he slowed down as the game went on, and this is just another learning experience for one of the youngest teams (if not the youngest) in the league. Freeman had a poor second half, which is opposite from the way he has played so far in his career, but again, he’ll learn from this.
The Redskins committed six turnovers, including four fumbles, and that essentially killed any chances they had in this game. Donovan McNabb threw for 296 yards and a touchdown, but he had a pair of picks and lost one of his three fumbles. Then the Redskins were down 21-0 at halftime, and not like they were going to end up running the ball anyway, but they had just 74 yards on the ground, which is even worse than their average. Washington has 22 giveaways this year, and they could be in for more if they don’t at least try to fix the running game.

Defensive Matchups: Buccaneers Redskins Betting
Like the offense, the Tampa Bay defense lost their nerve late against the Falcons, although the special teams didn’t help by allowing a 102-yard kickoff return. They picked off Matt Ryan twice, but gave up the late score, and they also gave the Falcons three first downs because of penalties. The biggest worry may be the injury to cornerback Aqib Talib, who had to leave the game, and freed up Atlanta’s star receiver, Roddy White. If Talib can’t play this weekend, it won’t hurt so much as the Redskins don’t have a true No.1 receiver, but having him on the field allows Tampa Bay’s 15th-ranked defense to do a lot of different things because he shuts down half of the field.
The Redskins are much better than their 31st-place ranking as they force a lot of turnovers, and they’re often put in bad positions by the offense. But again, the Albert Haynesworth situation is rearing its head as the defensive lineman was benched by what we thought was an illness, but it turns out that it was due to poor practices, and this obviously doesn’t sit well with Haynesworth, who casts a bigger shadow over the unit when he’s off the field. Something has to be done about this situation because it’s terrible for team morale. The team is also missing safety LaRon Landry, who may be able to suit up this week, but it’s not likely.

Notable Injuries: Buccaneers Redskins Betting
Talib (hip) will be a huge worry for the Bucs, but Tampa Bay is relatively healthy.
Landry (Achilles) may be able to take his walking boot off this week, while cornerback Carlos Rogers (hamstring) also missed the Giants game, along with running back Ryan Torain (hamstring). Who knows what is going to happen with Haynesworth, as well.

Outlook and Pick: Buccaneers Redskins Betting
The Buccaneers are a 3-point NFL betting favorite on the road in Washington, where they are 1-4 ATS and 2-3 SU in their last five trips, four of which has come in the last 10 years. We look for them to snatch a win this week as they’re seventh in the league against the pass, and even if Talib doesn’t play Tampa Bay should have enough to shut down the Redskins, who won’t even bother trying to run. The Washington defense is losing its will, and that means that the Bucs will be able to control the ball through their running game, which opens up the play-action for Freeman. We’re taking the Buccaneers on the road in our online betting book.
