Left Tackle The Biggest Concern As Packers Host Cardinals In Preseason Opener
A Green Bay Packers’ fan that didn’t check the news for 24 hours from Sunday night would have been shocked when they turn on the television Monday night - and not because the team signed Vince Young. The Packers lost left tackle Bryan Bulaga to a torn ACL, meaning that they won’t have Aaron Rodgers’ best blindside protector for the entire online sports betting season. Rodgers might not see much action in Friday’s preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals, but the loss of Bulaga is going to have a major impact on how the Packers are able to perform this coming year.

The Cardinals have been fortunate to get to this point without any major injuries, especially considering what some of the other NFC teams have already been through. Arizona is looking to start the Bruce Arians era on the right note, but winning at Lambeau is a difficult task regardless of what time of the year it is.
NFL Betting Preview: Arizona Cardinals
Arians brought in Carson Palmer to start at quarterback, but he likely won’t play more than one or two full series’. Nobody will be happier to have Palmer in the desert than Larry Fitzgerald, who has struggled without a consistent quarterback since Kurt Warner retired. Drew Stanton knows the offense and Ryan Lindley should see time as well in this one, and it will be interesting to see how hard Arians pushes them. Rookie Tyrann Mathieu has been getting rave reviews on the defensive side of the ball, and this will be his first real test of NFL game action.
NFL Betting Preview: Green Bay Packers
Figuring out the situation at left tackle will be the biggest concern for this Green Bay team, and there has been talk about rookie fourth-round pick David Bakhtiari being the favorite to take over for now. The Packers need to see Bakhtiari in action to know what they have, but will likely have Young and Graham Harrell under center for the most part while they audition him. The decision to sign Young was an interesting one, as the sports betting experts have debated whether he is there to run the option with the scout team in practice for the defense or actually be Rodgers’ primary backup.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The biggest question mark for Green Bay is the left tackle spot, but Young offers some intrigue at the quarterback spot and will likely get his chance to show what he can do. The Packers have the better depth at a variety of positions including quarterback, so look for them to pull out the victory in front of the home fans at Lambeau and start the year off on the right track.
