Chiefs Buccaneers Betting Predictions – Buccaneers Look To Get Back On Track Against Lowly Chiefs
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking forward to putting a 1-3 start behind them coming out of their bye this week, and a sports betting matchup against the lowly Kansas City Chiefs could be the perfect solution. The Buccaneers have lost three-straight by a combined 15 points since winning their season-opener against the Carolina Panthers, but remain confident that they can get back on track. The same cannot be said about a Kansas City team that appears to be reeling after falling to 1-4, especially after losing its starting quarterback a week ago. Tampa Bay will host the Chiefs in what appears to be an excellent opportunity to get back on track this week, coming off an extra seven days to prepare.

The Chiefs’ fans at Arrowhead Stadium for last week’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens actually cheered when Matt Cassell was injured, a sad situation that was addressed by many outspoken players after the game. The bigger concern might not be that the fans were cheering but that they were actually in favor of Brady Quinn replacing Cassell, a scary idea for any NFL team.
NFL Betting Preview: Kansas City Chiefs
Cassell’s status for Sunday’s game remains in question, but the transition to Quinn would surely be a downgrade regardless of how the fans in Kansas City feel about their starter. The Chiefs’ offense has struggled to move the ball regardless of who is under center, and could have a tough time again this week against the fourth-ranked rush defense. Kansas City will try and break through the Buccaneers’ front-seven with running backs Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis, but could be better off using them in the passing game as well. The Chiefs’ defense hasn’t been awful considering the situations they have been put in, particularly with the eighth-ranked pass defense in the NFL.
NFL Betting Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers will look to get back to the basics in week six, with head coach Greg Schiano dialing up a ton of running plays and allowing rookie Doug Martin to attack the heart of the Kansas City defense. With an extra week to prepare, the Tampa Bay offense should be ready for this game and we could see more big plays between quarterback Josh Freeman and wide receiver Vincent Jackson as a result. The Buccaneers have given up the most passing yards on average in the NFL through six weeks, but that number should go down against an awful Chiefs’ passing game.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
Home field advantage, a legitimate starting quarterback, and an extra week to prepare will all work in the Buccaneers’ favor as they take a step in the right direction this week. Tampa Bay has been in some close games against talented opponents and the results haven’t gone their way, but that should change this week against a Kansas City team that has more questions than answers heading in to this online sportsbook week.
