Colts Bengals Betting – Collins Looks To Give Colts Life Against Bengals In Preseason Finale
After struggling through the first three preseason games, the Indianapolis Colts will finally have a new quarterback under center for their exhibition finale against the Cincinnati Bengals, only it won’t be Peyton Manning. Manning was told by doctors that he can resume practicing this week but under a modified schedule, which means it will be the team’s newest signing Kerry Collins that will see the bulk of the sports betting action.

The injury to Manning has opened the eyes of Colts’ owner Jim Irsay about the future of the franchise beyond his All Pro quarterback, especially considering how terrible the team has performed without him. Meanwhile, the Bengals have already made their move to the future with the appointment of Andy Dalton as their starting quarterback, and it is already paying off.
NFL Betting Preview: Indianapolis Colts
Collins was added out of desperation for a franchise that simply cannot operate without Manning under center. There may not be a more important player to his team in terms of a basic foundation to even compete, and the hope is that Collins can pick up a modified offense quickly enough to potentially start in week one. With a strong cast of wide receivers around him the talent is there to help Collins succeed, but it is particularly alarming to have seen how the team has struggled through three straight sports betting bonus preseason losses.
NFL Betting Preview: Cincinnati Bengals
Dalton outperformed Carolina Panthers’ first overall pick Cam Newton when the two sides met in last week’s 24-13 Bengals’ win, throwing for 130 yards and a touchdown. Dalton has progressed with every preseason game, and he has already found his go-to guy in rookie first round pick wide receiver AJ Green. Green has already developed a penchant for making the big catch, and he has the playmaking ability to become a Pro Bowl receiver right out of the gate. Green caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from Dalton in the win over the Panthers, and head coach Marvin Lewis is happy with what he has seen. Much of the team’s fortunes depends on how the defense bounces back this year under coordinator Mike Zimmer, and so far this preseason those units have looked strong.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
The Colts have been a disaster without Manning, and at this point it isn’t likely that Collins is the answer. While the Indianapolis quarterback situation is a mess, the Bengals are doing just fine with Dalton and that is a scary outlook considering everything that has happened. Cincinnati has progressed with every preseason game, and they will look to finish strong and send the Colts home winless through their exhibition schedule.
