Colts Eagles Betting – Rested Eagles Take Advantage Of New Colts
Sports betting players watched the well-oiled Indianapolis offense keep it moving in a big win last week, but this week the Indianapolis Colts will head out on the road to Philadelphia to face a Philadelphia Eaglesteam that is well-rested and will have had enough time to come up with a gameplan to combat a banged-up Colts team. The Colts have the best quarterback in the league, but he’ll need some help to pull off the upset.

What’s On The Line
The Colts (5-2) showed they wouldn’t be slowed by injuries in a 30-17 win over Houston at home on Monday night to take control of the AFC South, while the Eagles (4-3) are coming off a bye week just one game back in the NFC East. There is a lot at stake for both teams as they’re near or at the top of their divisions, and navigating the second half of the season will be a bit easier if they get a win this weekend.
Offensive Matchups: Colts Eagles Betting
As long as Peyton Manning is in town, the Indy offense is going to be fine. Despite injuries to Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai and Austin Collie, the Colts put up 366 yards and even held onto the ball for over 36 minutes. The Indy offense is predicated on timing, and Manning has the best in the business, he just needs his receivers to be at a spot. Manning spread the ball around to keep the Texans off-balance, and they got a career-high 84 yards from running back Mike Hart, who also went down with an injury later.
The Eagles are fifth in the league offensively, three spots behind Indianapolis, and it doesn’t seem to matter if it’s Michael Vick and Kevin Kolb under center. Vick appears to be healthy and will probably be the starter for this week’s game, and his running adds a different dimension to the Eagles, who are also hoping to have DeSean Jackson back in the lineup. If The Eagles could run a bit more consistently, they would be a bigger threat, but the offensive line struggles to open up holes for LeSean McCoy.

Defensive Matchups: Colts Eagles Betting
Indianapolis’ defense came out and punched the Houston Texans in the mouth on Monday night, holding them to 291 yards. The first half is when they really took control, limiting the Texans to three points and Kelvin Hayden’s pick-six gave the Colts a 14-0 lead. Still, the Colts did give up 6.0 yards per carry, but the Texans couldn’t run a lot because they were behind. The Indy defense can be great sometimes, but they also can’t be trusted.
The Eagles, on the other hand, are a better defense than their12th-place ranking. They have 21 sacks and are generally a nuisance in a backfield, and the run defense has improved a lot since the beginning of the year. They’ve made a change, replacing Ellis Hobbs at corner with Dmitri Patterson, and he could be the target of the Indy offense, but the Colts are going to pass, pass, and pass some more.

Notable Injuries: Colts Eagles Betting
Safety Bob Sanders (biceps) is no closer to returning, while cornerback Jacob Lacey (foot) is a major question mark. Receiver Austin Collie (hand) probably won’t play, while Hart (ankle) and Donald Brown (hamstring) could hurt the depth at the running-back position for the Colts.
Jackson (concussion) is questionable for this week, while tackle Jason Peters (knee) hopes to play after having surgery two weeks ago. Defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley (elbow) is also a worry for the Eagles.

Outlook and Pick: Colts Eagles Betting
NFL betting lines for this game haven’t been released yet as the Colts just played on Monday night and have some injuries to figure out, but the Eagles will likely be favored at home. The Colts are 4-1 SU in their last five trips to Philly, and 3-1 ATS, but they haven’t been there since a 35-13 romp in 2002. We think the Eagles will pull this one out as the Colts were playing in the confines of their own place last week, it was a revenge game against a divisional rival, and now a lot of these players who were just inserted into the lineup last week are going to one of the more hostile environments in the league. Manning can’t do it all by himself. Not to mention, the Eagles are coming off a bye and are rested, while the Colts have a short week. The Colts are good, but there is too much to overcome to get a win this week. Take Philadelphia in your online betting book.
