Colts Titans Betting – Manning, Colts Right Ship Against Titans
Sports betting players likely can’t remember a stretch where they’ve seen Indianapolis’ star quarterback play as bad as he has in recent weeks, but on Thursday the Indianapolis Colts will head into Tennessee to face a Tennessee Titans team that is in worse shape than them. Look for the Colts to get up for this big divisional game.

What’s On The Line
Two slumping AFC South teams try to get back on the right track, as the Colts (6-6) fell 38-35 in overtime at home to the Dallas Cowboys on the back of another poor game from Peyton Manning, while the Titans (5-7) have now dropped five in a row after a 17-6 loss at home to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Strangely, both are still in the hunt for the South title as two games separate the top from the bottom, and a loss likely ends someone’s playoff hopes.
Offensive Matchups: Colts Titans Betting
There are a lot of reasons that Manning is struggling, including the lack of a running game and all the injuries to his skill players, but at some point we have to blame the future Hall of Famer for making some bad throws. Manning passed for 365 yards and two touchdowns, but he was picked off four times, bringing his three-game total to 11. Four of those were run back for scores, and Manning is just making some bad throws, which hits quarterbacks every so often, it’s just that Manning has set the bar so high for himself. It also doesn’t help that he has to throw so much because of the Colts’ awful running game, which averaged 2.4 yards on Sunday.
Tennessee has scored more than 17 points just once during this five-game skid, and it’s all gone downhill for the Titans, who got Kerry Collins back from a calf injury. Collins threw for 169 yards and was picked off twice, and a 17-0 deficit at halftime changed Tennessee’s plan as they couldn’t run anymore. Chris Johnson ran for 53 yards, averaging 4.1 yards per carry, but the Titans had to abandon the run, and they’re clearly a better team when Johnson is moving the chains. If the Titans can run, that makes things easier for Collins.

Defensive Matchups: Colts Titans Betting
The defense has been put in some tough positions by all of the turnovers by Manning, but the Colts have given up an average of 35 points over this three-game skid. Remember, four of Manning’s picks were taken back to the house, but the Colts’ defense is still shaky, and they gave up 217 yards on the ground. The Colts got 10 tackles from the returning Gary Brackett, but Indy’s defense is suspect from front to back. They don’t get a pass rush outside of ends Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney, which leaves the secondary exposed, and they’ve had injuries to their linebackers.
The Titans’ defense has been holding the team in games, and they did as well as they could have while being on the field for almost 40 minutes. They were eventually worn down by the Jacksonville ground game as Maurice Jones-Drew ran for 186 yards, and the Jaguars had 258 yards as a whole. Stephen Tulloch had 17 tackles and was one of three players with 10 tackles or more for the Titans, who were let down by a bad offense, but they still allow almost five points per game less than the Colts.

Outlook and Pick: Colts Titans Betting
NFL betting odds have the Colts as a 2.5-point favorite on the road, and Indy is 3-2 SU in their last five trips to Tennessee, including 2-3 ATS. Something has to give in a battle of two teams on a slide, and we’re going to bet on Indy for this short-week game. For one, the Indy defense won’t give up over 200 yards on the ground this week, even with Johnson on the other side of the ball, and we have no faith in Collins to carry Tennessee to the win. Manning has a 101.3 rating in 16 games against the Titans, and we think he’ll get back on track this week. Go with the Colts in your online betting picks.
