The Dallas Cowboys keeps its winning streak alive with a Thanksgiving Day win over the Miami Dolphins.
Sports betting players have a busy day of football on Thursday, and the second game of the day features a pair of teams on a roll as Miami heads to Dallas. Both teams have been playing very well, but the Cowboys are a strong team from top to bottom, and they’ll flex their muscles on Thanksgiving Day.

Pick: Dallas Cowboys -7
Why Bet On Miami Dolphins (3-7 SU, 4-6 ATS)
The Dolphins have now won three in a row after a 35-8 rout of Buffalo at home, and it was a complete team effort in all three facets. Matt Moore was 14-of-20 for 160 yards and three touchdowns with no picks, and they found the end zone on all four trips to the red zone. The defense forced a pair of turnovers and stopped the Bills on all 12 of their third-down attempts. They even blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. Three weeks ago, if you would have been told that the Dolphins would be on a three-game winning streak and coming off a 27-point romp of Buffalo, any sane NFL betting players would have said you were crazy, but it goes to show how quickly things can change in the NFL.
There are no early indications that the Dolphins suffered any injuries against the Bills, but keep an eye on the news before making your football betting pick. Miami has really stepped up their game as of late and the play of Moore has been very encouraging to head coach Tony Sparano, who has some history with the Cowboys, where he coached the offensive line for three years before taking the job in Miami. But they’ll need another game in which all three aspects of their team are involved because they don’t have the talent to match up with the Cowboys.
Why Bet On Dallas Cowboys (6-4 SU, 4-5-1 ATS)
Dallas is also on a roll with three straight wins after a 27-24 overtime victory in Washington as Dan Bailey kicked a 39-yard field goal with 5:39 left in the extra frame. Tony Romo was 23-of-37 for 292 yards and three touchdowns, while DeMarco Murray had his paced slowed down, running for 73 yards. The Cowboys allowed four sacks, but managed three of their own, and they forced two turnovers from the Redskins. It was a scrappy game and Washington wouldn’t go down without a fight, which was actually the best thing for the Cowboys as they had to battle adversity on the road against a divisional opponent, and it doesn’t matter that Washington may not be a good football team. We know the Cowboys have talent and should be a favorite among NFL betting players, but they’ve never been a team with the most mental strength. This was a very good win for the Cowboys heading into the stretch run and now that they’re tied at the top of the NFC East, it could be the motivation they need.
The Cowboys were glad to have Felix Jones (ankle) back in the lineup, although Murray will still get the bulk of the work; Jones is actually a better change-of-pace back than he is an every-down back. A larger worry is fullback Tony Fiammetta (illness), who should be back on Thursday to open up holes for Murray. Miami will provide another stiff task for the Cowboys, especially as they’re playing well right now and Dallas will need to raise their game in order to keep this run going. Thanksgiving is always a big day for Cowboys fans and the players need to realize they need a big performance under the bright lights.
How It Will Play Out
NFL betting odds have the Cowboys as a 7-point favorite at home against the Dolphins, who are 4-1 SU and ATS in five trips to Dallas, the last of which came in 2003. Miami is 2-3 ATS on the road, while the Cowboys are 2-3 ATS in Dallas this season.
Dallas has more weapons on both sides of the ball, so this will be a test of their poise and mental resolve, and the emergence of Murray has really made Romo more comfortable. Moore has been playing above his talent level as of late and the Cowboys need to get a pass rush on him.
