Eagles Cowboys Betting – Philadelphia Seeks To Stay Atop NFC East
The Philadelphia Eagles are trying to fend off the New York Giants in a battle for the NFC East title. They need to win at the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday night to stay in first place.

Why To Bet On The Eagles
For one thing, Philadelphia will be rested coming into this contest. The Eagles had the benefit of surviving a Thursday night game against the Houston Texans on Dec. 2, pulling out a 34-24 victory in a game that didn’t feature Philadelphia’s very best stuff. However, one shouldn’t expect a razor-sharp performance when playing two games in five days.
The point of a Thursday game is just to get out of it alive and healthy, and that’s what the Eagles were able to do. They had two extra days of rest compared to Dallas, and that will show up on Sunday night. As long as Michael Vick executes coach Andy Reid’s West Coast offense and makes sound decisions, there’s no reason why the Eagles should be slowed down against a Dallas defense that allowed 35 points this past weekend against an Indianapolis Colts team that – while posing a struggling Peyton Manning – still moved the ball up and down the field with considerable regularity.
Philadelphia has a massive advantage when it possesses the ball, and since Dallas receiver and return specialist Dez Bryant is out for the year with a broken ankle suffered against Indianapolis, the chances for the Eagles are only getting better in advance of this game’s Sunday night kickoff time.
Why To Bet On The Cowboys
The outlook in Dallas is getting better and better despite the injury to Dez Bryant. The Cowboys have been a renewed team under interim coach Jason Garrett. Even with a backup quarterback in the form of ancient Jon Kitna, Dallas is moving the ball and – moreover – playing 60 complete minutes with passion on both sides of the line of scrimmage.
Dallas has taken down the New York Giants on the road. The Cowboys very nearly beat the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints at home on Thanksgiving, and now they’ve defeated the defending AFC champions from Indianapolis on the road. This team is playing legitimately good football and is not backdooring its way into cheap victories against weak opponents.
There’s no reason to think that Dallas – for all its weaknesses – won’t put up an inspired effort against Philadelphia in a prime-time game. The Cowboys should draw extra energy from what should be a fired-up crowd at Cowboys Stadium, owner Jerry Jones’ new pleasure palace in suburban Dallas. If coordinator Paul Pasqualoni’s defense continues to fly to the ball the way it did against Indianapolis – registering four interceptions against Peyton Manning and returning two of them for touchdowns – perhaps the Cowboys can contain Michael Vick as well.
How The Game Will Play Out
Dallas will not contain Michael Vick, and the Eagles will win a shootout on the road. Dallas will score, but Philadelphia will score a lot more. Take the Eagles in Texas.
