Chiefs Look To Stay Undefeated When They Face The Winless Giants This Sunday
The Kansas City Chiefs have already won more games this online sports betting season than they did a year ago. In order for Andy Reid and his team to stay undefeated this week, their early success against NFC East opponents must continue. After spending 14 years as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Reid arrived in Kansas City with a firm understanding of the four NFC East teams. It has certainly helped him so far with back-to-back wins over the Dallas Cowboys and Eagles, and now the Chiefs have a chance to improve to 4-0 when they host the New York Giants this Sunday.

NFL Sportsbook Line: Kansas City – 4
The Giants are among the league’s biggest disappointments early on at 0-3, and didn’t show much fight in their latest defeat either. The 38-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers last week was the team’s worst in the Tom Coughlin era, and there could be another coaching change on the way in the NFC East if New York continues to falter as they have.
NFL Betting Line: New York Giants
It’s unlikely the Giants will dismiss a two-time Super Bowl-winning head coach this early in the year, but only five of the 161 teams that started 0-3 since 1978 have ended up making the playoffs and there isn’t much reason to think this team can add to that list. New York barely even showed up in the loss to Carolina, and the problems extend well beyond anything a players-only meeting can address. Eli Manning has already thrown eight interceptions through three games, and he was sacked seven times in the loss to the Panthers alone. The lack of a steady rushing attack has forced the Giants to pass more than they want to, which has only contributed to the issue. It will get even tougher against a strong Chiefs’ defense that ranks fifth in the NFL against the pass, and that could mean more offensive struggles and more turnover issues.

The turnover numbers can also help explain Kansas City starting 3-0, as they have yet to turn the ball over through three-straight wins. Reid has preached patience and protecting the football, two things he has gotten from his starting quarterback Alex Smith. Smith has thrown for 664 yards and four touchdowns. He was sacked five times and threw for just 273 yards last week, but he protected the football and that made it that much more difficult on the Eagles. Running back Jamaal Charles ran for 92 yards and a score at Philadelphia, and the defense forced five turnovers to help seal the win. A strong presence in the run game and tough defense means that Smith can afford to be safe, and everything has been in sync for Kansas City through three-straight wins now.
NFL Betting Line: Outlook & Pick
Manning and the Giants have looked awful through the first three weeks, and there isn’t much reason to think they are suddenly going to turn things around on the road against a very good Chiefs’ team. New York might not commit as many turnovers, but Kansas City is one of the most complete teams in the AFC and should be able to extend its strong start to the online betting season with another big win to improve to 4-0.
