Giants Redskins Betting – Giants Complete Second Half Collapse In Nation’s Capitol
Every year it is the same thing. The sports book experts pick the New York Giants to go to the Super Bowl, the Giants start off great and then collapse in the second half of the season. Turnovers and bad penalties suddenly appear and the team takes itself out of contention. The Washington Redskins are a mess thanks to mismanagement by head coach Mike Shanahan, but at least they found a reason to get rid of Donovan McNabb.

What’s On The Line
The Giants (9-6) have put themselves in a situation where they need to win their last game of the season and the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers both need to lose. In other words, the Giants have fallen so far that they no longer control their own destiny. The Redskins (6-9) made a big deal about bringing in quarterback Donovan McNabb only to have new head coach Mike Shanahan dismantle the relationship between coach and quarterback. The Redskins are playing just to end the season, but they may have found their quarterback and running back in the process.
Offensive Matchups: Giants Redskins Betting
On paper, the Giants offense is light years ahead of the Redskins offense. With quarterback Eli Manning, running back Brandon Jacobs and wide receiver Mario Manningham on the roster; the Giants offense should be prolific. But the game is played on the field and not on paper, and on the field Eli Manning makes game-changing mistakes and the offense cannot seal wins.
Online football betting gave up weeks ago in trying to figure out what Mike Shanahan’s plan was in Washington. Apparently, the plan involved publicly humiliating Donovan McNabb to the point where McNabb would be screaming to get out of DC. That mission was accomplished. There does not seem to be any plan beyond that. Rex Grossman is making a strong point to be the new starting quarterback in Washington, and Ryan Torain has sealed up the job as the number one running back. All the Redskins need now is an offensive line and they would have a very good offense.

Defensive Matchups: Giants Redskins Betting
On paper, and on the field, the Giants defense is far superior to the Redskins. The Giants offensive line is one of the most athletic group of players in football. Their ability to pursue quarterbacks and running backs has helped to shut down many offenses. The Giants secondary is a little inconsistent, but they manage to hold up in the final moments of a game only to watch the Giants offense give the game away to the opposition.
The Redskins have very little to offer on defense. The 3-4 defense that Mike Shanahan tried to cram into a 4-3 roster is failing miserably. The Washington secondary is consistently out of position and gives up big plays on a regular basis. The only group that plays with any real consistency is the linebackers, but there is only so much the linebackers can do on their own to shut down an offense.

Notable Injuries: Giants Redskins Betting
The two most damaging injuries to the Giants are on offense. Wide receiver Hakeen Nicks (toe) and running back Ahmad Bradshaw (ankle) did not practice are not expected to play.
The only notable injury for the Redskins is cornerback Carlos Rogers (calf) who is not expected to play.

Outlook and Pick: Giants Redskins Betting
After last week’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, Eli Manning went to speak to the media and no one was there. That is a thumbnail sketch of what is happening in New York. The Giants are crumbling and it is interesting to see how much longer New York will hold on to head coach Tom Coughlin and allow the team to continue to spiral downwards.
Stan’s Pick: Washington Redskins
