Manning, Giants Look To Finish Off RG3, Redskins On Sunday Night Football
The New York Giants and Washington Redskins are both on the outside looking in when it comes to the NFC playoff picture. While neither team will participate in this year’s postseason, both are focused on the bigger picture moving forward. The Giants and Redskins have drastically underachieved after both were considered legitimate contenders in the NFC East, and right now it is about taking it one game at a time and trying to turn things around. New York had its four-game win streak snapped when it was dealt a likely fatal blow in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys last week, but will look to bounce back and get the job done this Sunday in an online sports betting contest that can seal the fate of the Redskins.

NFL Sports Betting Line: New York – 1
Washington will be officially eliminated with a loss this Sunday, but questions extend far beyond this week as to the future and whether or not head coach Mike Shanahan will be a part of it. Shanahan has received public support from his players, but it may not be enough following the Redskins’ plight this season.
NFL Betting Preview: New York Giants
Giants’ head coach Tom Coughlin certainly understands what it is like to be on the hot seat, but the two-time Super Bowl champion also gets that it is about taking it one week at a time. New York has played well after opening the year with six-straight losses, and all that is left to do now is to build in the right direction going forward to next year. Eli Manning has cut his turnovers down while throwing for 2,760 yards and 14 touchdowns, and for as rough of a season as he has had it certainly isn’t all on him. The offensive line can certainly be better, and running back Andre Brown is coming off another strong performance. The Giants’ defense has also been better over the last five games and it needs to get pressure on Robert Griffin III from the outset.
NFL Betting Preview: Washington Redskins
No player has gotten more flack this year than RG3, even though the offensive play-calling has been awful and the line has struggled. The Redskins haven’t let running back Alfred Morris touch the ball nearly enough, and too often it has resulted in obvious long passing situations where an underwhelming line has been exposed. RG3 has been hit far too often, and a lot of the time they are big blows that have taken their toll. The Washington defense ranks in the bottom-third of the NFL in passing yards allowed per game, although there is a good chance they would be in a better spot if the Redskins committed more to the ground game and decided to run the ball more. Ultimately, Griffin will get the majority of the flack, but that doesn’t mean he deserves it.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
Neither of these teams will compete for a playoff spot this year, but they each have a lot to play for as they try and get back on track in another NFC East showdown. The Redskins have a ton of talent despite underachieving, but ultimately it’s the Giants that are playing better football and making fewer mistakes right now, so it makes sense to roll with the visitors in this online betting contest.
