How To Bet On 49ers Patriots – Patriots Clash With 49ers In Potential Super Bowl Preview On Sunday Night Football
The New England Patriots established themselves as the team to beat in the AFC with a dominant 42-14 blowout win over the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. Next up for the Patriots: A potential Super Bowl preview against the high-powered San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football. New England has clearly played its best football against its best opponents this season and gotten better as the year has gone on. The Patriots extended their win streak to seven with last week’s win over the Texans, and with back-to-back games against sub-.500 teams to close out the year can all but solidify a first-round bye with a sports betting victory this week.

The 49ers undoubtedly took notice of what New England did to the Texans, and will look to avoid a similar fate in the Primetime spotlight. San Francisco head coach Jim Harbaugh has made the decision to stick with young quarterback Colin Kaepernick despite a healthy Alex Smith, and this game will be the first real test of whether that was the right decision for this season.
NFL Betting Preview: San Francisco 49ers
The second-year passer has shown a knack for the big play in his second season, including a 50-yard touchdown run last week that sealed a 27-13 win over the Miami Dolphins. However, this will be just the second team with a winning record that Kaepernick gets the start against, and it is hard to count the first after the Chicago Bears were missing starting quarterback Jay Cutler among others for that contest. The 49ers will certainly need to establish their ground game early in order to open up space for Kaepernick, while a dominant defense that ranks second against both the run and pass looks to make things a lot more difficult on Tom Brady than Houston did a week ago.
NFL Betting Preview: New England Patriots
Brady made the Texans look like a scout defense, throwing for 296 yards and four touchdowns while leading the Patriots to a blowout win over the team projected to be their biggest challenge in the AFC. For as good as the aerial attack is, New England has also been able to move the ball on the ground with a top-10 rushing attack led by Stevan Ridley, who rushed for 72 yards and a score in last week’s win. The Patriots’ defense also deserves credit for stepping up with one of its best performances of the season, holding Houston to just seven first-half points and 14 total while making several big stops.
NFL Betting Preview: Outlook & Pick
After proving themselves against the best the AFC had to offer, it’s time for New England to host one of the best from the NFC to complete its toughest two-game stretch of the season. The Patriots certainly made last week’s online sportsbook victory look easy, and while this game should be much closer, don’t expect Brady and Bill Belichick to lose at home against a quarterback that is still very much a rookie in terms of starting experience.
