How To Bet On Bills Dolphins – Buffalo Waits For Nightmare To End
Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins – Sunday December 23, 2012 1:00PM EST
The 2012 season cannot end quickly enough for the Buffalo Bills and its fans. After some key free agent signings in the offseason, the NFL betting experts had the Bills pegged as a playoff team. But poor coaching and poor player performance has caused the Bills to struggle just to match the 6-10 record of a year ago. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has not lived up to his big contract and neither has defensive lineman Mario Williams. The Buffalo Bills have, once again, squandered a season full of high expectations.
The Miami Dolphins, on the other hand, have exceeded the sports betting expectations. Rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill has flourished despite the lack of a consistent running game and a reliable deep receiving threat. The Miami defense has also proven to be more resilient than people had expected. This Miami team is only a few roster moves away from being a playoff contender for next season. But it is debatable as to whether or not the Dolphins can be the team to take the AFC East crown from the New England Patriots.
Why the Bills Will Win
The sportsbook experts are holding off on calling the Buffalo Bills the most disappointing team of 2012 because that title may, once again, belong to the San Diego Chargers. But the Bills have shown an amazing ability to get progressively worse despite significantly positive roster changes. The thing that the Dolphins will have to watch out for is the Buffalo Bills can be unpredictable. Running back C.J. Spiller could have a 150-yard rushing game with three touchdowns while Mario Williams racks up three sacks. It has happened to Buffalo at times this season, and it could very well happen against a team like the Dolphins.
Why the Dolphins Will Win
The Miami Dolphins seem to be gaining confidence each and every week. In week 15, the Dolphins played a disciplined game and beat a struggling Jacksonville Jaguars team. The Dolphins do not necessarily have a better roster than the Bills, but Miami has shown that it can be a better team than Buffalo. As long as Miami is able to continue to play as a team, then it should be able to win these games over inferior teams. The Buffalo Bills, in this case, can be considered an inferior team.
The Bottom Line
This game is dangerous to bet because the Bills could put together one good effort and win this game. But it would not take much for Miami to knock Buffalo off of any roll it may start to get on. The Bills come into this game without veteran running back Fred Jackson, and the Buffalo Bills will get a pretty good idea of just how much its offense misses Jackson by the time this game is over.
