How To Bet On Broncos Patriots – Manning Handles Brady In New England
Denver Broncos @ New England Patriots – Sunday October 7, 2012 4:25PM EST
Most of the football betting world knows the story about Tom Brady versus Peyton Manning. Brady owns the series between the two quarterbacks with an overall 12-8 lead, but Manning has won four of the last six meetings between these two great quarterbacks. When it comes to Super Bowls, Brady leads that category 3-1. Even though Brady’s stats stack up well against Manning, it is always Manning who is considered the better quarterback. In this game, both the Broncos and the Patriots desperately need a win and that should definitely add to the drama.
The Denver Broncos bring something to Foxboro that the Patriots have not really run into yet – a formidable defense. The NFL betting experts were thinking that the new Buffalo Bills’ defense would be able to handle the Patriots on the road, but the Bills defense wound up being all hype and no substance. The Broncos bring two excellent cornerbacks in Champ Bailey and Tracy Porter, and Denver also brings a ferocious pass rush. This is a defense unlike anything the Patriots have seen this season, and that still leaves the Denver offense to be dealt with.
Why the Patriots Will Win
Most people do not see the New England Patriots finishing the season at 8-8. No matter how bad things seem to get for the Patriots, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick always seem to know how to pull out the winning season. But at the pace New England is going this year, it looks like it may make the playoffs as the division winner with the worst record. There is no team in the AFC East to challenge the Patriots, so a playoff spot is almost assured. But this game against the Broncos will let New England know if it is ready to be the Patriots everyone remembers, or if this could be a long year in New England.
Why the Broncos Will Win
Week four against the Oakland Raiders was just what Peyton Manning and the Denver offense needed. The sports betting experts watched as Manning looked comfortable in the pocket, was able to scramble effectively and had no problem finding his receivers downfield. It looked like Manning was back in full form and that is very bad news for the Patriots. Not only will New England have to contend with the much improved Denver defense and place kicker Matt Prater, but it will also have to find a way to shut Peyton Manning down. None of those tasks are easy.
The Bottom Line
The New England Patriots will take more divisional games from teams like the Bills and Jets and probably run away with the AFC East. But once New England gets out of its own division, things can get unpredictable. This game will show why New England really is not a Super Bowl favorite this season.
