How To Bet On Buccaneers Vikings – Bucs Keep Learning Important Lessons
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Minnesota Vikings – Thursday October 25, 2012 8:20PM EST
The NFL betting experts are still trying to convince Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans that the team’s best years are still ahead of it. At 2-4, the Buccaneers do not appear to be any better this season than it was last season, but that is on the surface. The Buccaneers are putting a much improved offense in place that is centered around quarterback Josh Freeman. The only way the offense would fail is if Freeman was unable to find his form of a couple of years ago that brought so much promise to Tampa. But Freeman has shown that, when he is given the right tools, he is able to get a lot done for Tampa that he could not do before. Once the Bucs get its offense in place, then it will start to work on its defense, which is where many of the problems lie for Tampa.
Without Adrian Peterson, the Minnesota Vikings do not win its week seven game against the Arizona Cardinals. But, as the betting sites point out, winning games is why Peterson is in Minnesota in the first place. The Vikings did not get much help from quarterback Christian Ponder as Ponder threw for only 59 yards in the game, one touchdown and two interceptions. Early in the season, the Vikings were winning because of Ponder’s ability to manage games and not make mistakes. Now the Vikings are winning games despite Ponder’s inability to avoid costly errors.
Why the Buccaneers Will Win
The Minnesota Vikings have become a very one-dimensional offense that should be easy to stop. All the Tampa Bay defense has to do is stop Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson and the Bucs should be in good shape. The problem is that stopping Peterson is a tall assignment for a Tampa defense that has not been able to stop the run all season long. The online sports book experts suggest that Tampa get into a shootout with the Vikings and see if Tampa quarterback Josh Freeman can use the tools at his disposal to win the game. Minnesota has a strong defense, but this may be the only way that Tampa can win the game.
Why the Vikings Will Win
Christian Ponder is backed up by one of the best defensive units in the NFL and that has helped him to keep his head above water these last few games. Without the defense, Ponder and the offense could have easily given away the last three or four games. That solid defense will put pressure on Josh Freeman all day and allow Adrian Peterson to bring the win home for the Vikings.
The Bottom Line
The Vikings were coasting along for the first four or five games of the season. But recent cracks in the Minnesota armor have opened the team up to a couple of losses and close wins. This game might be close, but it should be another Minnesota win.
